Looks great! Thanks so much for this.

Sorry to bother you guys, but how can I install this mod without losing anything?

Hi, Stratos, you can easily install with JSGME without having to worrying about losing anything. If you don't know what that is, I would search it on these forums as there are some decent guides to be found here. If after that you're still having problems, feel free to join my Teamspeak 68.174.240.125 pw - dcs and I'd be glad to help you.

I vaguely remember someone coming up with a mod that added extra seasons so that map texture mods like this one or the desert one could be installed without overwriting the default game summer or fall or whatever season. Anyone else remember that?

Harnis, I've been looking into this exact thing but it really does look like anything that isn't a plane or heli doesn't have a proper livery system.

It's a deficiency (or resource specialisation) of the engine.

I edited the LUA for the Mission editor to allow choosing custom skins for ALL types of units but didn't get the results I needed. I was looking into this so that I could add statics that weren't all identical in appearance.

It would be great to have a livery system for ALL units that recognises textures and custom_args.

Thanks! Really great Mod. To get the Nam feeling just choose a wooded area around a large river or Georgian or Russian foothills where there are fields and woods...

For Huey's this is a very nice addition until a proper Vietnam map is out in EDGE. :)

Very Cool Starway. Gonna be nice to bring Huey "home".

Only prob is that I lost all the building textures.

Using JSGME. I'm heavily modded but deactivated all terrain associated mods. Ideas?

I remember that I had a similar problem with another terrain mod. If you activate terrain mods via JSGME, the prog creates folders to the designated positions. Sometimes this can create problems if you use different mods simultaneous.

The vietnam mod also includes new building textures. They are located in the folder "buildingTextures".

Try this:

1. Deactivate all terrain mods via JGSME

2. Delete the by JSGME created folders in the original position in the game folder architecture (not the rar-files!!!)

3. Re-activate the mod via JGSME

Hope this helps.

Best,

Thanks for the folowup SW.

I'm afraid I am not familiar with the files you are referring to;

"Delete the by JSGME created folders in the original position in the game folder architecture (not the rar-files!!!)"

Amazing work Starway...outstanding in every way!!

ED should look at this...all structures blend beautifully into the landscape and are a millions times more natural looking...especially bridges and roads.

It doesnt look like a game anymore when using this mod and sweetfx..it looks real!!

Only slight tiny negative is the beaches are a tiny bit bright around rivers for me.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning....:pilotfly::thumbup:

With a a bit of polish this would be payware worthy of a small fee.

Thanks Starway

Added difficulty level too..try picking out targets on this landscape without labels!

Almost photo-realistic ..the best scenery mod for DCS world bar none!!!

The dogs b****x.

Just reactivated Dimitriov's HiRes Building Mod and textures are back. That mod must have hijacked a file or so. Don't care. It's a great mod.

Your work here is Brilliant.
