Mig-21 bis for LockOn

I need one confirmation:

In BVR mode [3], TD box on HUD can be moved only up and down, and it cannot be moved to the left or right.

 

Question:

Any way to disable MFD? Some friends of mine are complaining that it does not look realistic, especially as it moves over the panel while you maneuver the aircraft (due to head movement bob).

Here's one easy way you can make it more realistic:

 

Press Rctrl + H, to change color of the MFD to yellow. Then use Setka Mode (press 8 ).

 

I said MFD, the one that overlays radar display in the instrument panel, not HUD :)

I mean, to turn it off, to make it not visible at all, to disable it in full, not to be shown in any way.

Just the blank "radar screen".

 

About 6dof, I know about those instructions, thanks, but that method is not preferable to all players.

 

As for "not realistic", I mean - it does not display realistic data in realistic way. Hence, many players voiced to remove such MFD in full, as that rather have blank radar screen.

 

As for "players", I mean buddies of mine that are spending quite a lot of a time with this mod, and does not represent other players of this mod in any way.

Hello,

 

Well it's a tricky at the moment. It can disable but without this you haven't use a radar so you have no info about bandits and also can't use radar guided missiles. We tried the Mig-21 with Su-25 cockpit insead of Mig-29. Generally it works, the HUD is an old one but without radar info you don't able to find any target.

 

Here it's the deactivated Radar Scren version files. Just overwrite the existing ones.

Yes, I remember you talking here about such issues. In fact, later on after I asked about this, I've realized that it may be more complicated then I initially thought, however, I see that you were able to do it!

My father is a MiG-21 (named J-7 in china) pilot, I love this plane so much.

 

I found some bugs maybe you know already.

 

1. 6DOF cockpit bug

2. tail bug, when wheel break, plane pitch down, cap 3D model of Drag chute will lost.

3. can't release Drag chute by key"P", I see it in readme write Automatic, bug I can't see it anyway, only in your trk

Great work on ex-YU skin and numbers! Those number work on CroAF just fine.

 

Just one thing:

in F-16A.skins you should have:

material = {"Mig-21_Nomera", "standart", "mig21bis_YUG_Numbers.tga"};

 

instead of:

material = {"Mig-21_Nomera", "standart", "Empty_NOMERA_Mig21.tga"};

 

The former one does not display last digit at all.

Also, there should be a note that bort numbers in mission editor should be entered as 10, 20, 30, 40... instead of 11, 12, 13, 14... cos only the tens are displayed on the aircraft, second digit from editor is transparent. If I explained that correctly :)

You read it all right Renato :) beczl missed this one and I forgot to remind him also he changed the skins, and messed up the numbering textures and reversed them. It's not hard to fix, I hope he fixes it if he gets to release newer version later on... lately I am really only working and nothing else so I was also too lazy to fix it

beczl pls will u tell me what file to edit in order to have engine smoke?.. regardless of what might happen to missiles,...

is it SFM_Engine.lua? pls tell me what file and what to edit there

 

or.. mig21bis.lua?

i understand that, but is it difficult to activate it? any chances that i can make it work? ( i remember i saw the smoke in one of your latest videos, i guess in the one u tested the nuke):)

for me the mod is kinda incomplete without the smoke :( could u help me out, could u give a hint or soemthin?

@speckfire: Sorry I have no time for Mig-25.

 

Some Specular map tests. The plane 1st quarter has a specular the other hasn't. You can clearly see the difference.

 

P.S.: Anybody know how can I create a good nav lights (bano) generally? I follow the "old" FC" way but it seems in DCS use a different enhanced method.
