    • I'm so happy thanks ED ! :))
    • I like, but it could be another WW2 plane. :)
    • I dont like P-51D, I want another WW2 plane. :|
    • I want WW2 scenery, not just a WW2 plane!
    • I want Flying Legends series to have only JETs. There is no place WW2 planes at JET's playground! :/
    • I just want ED to make modern aircrafts/helicopters.. :(
    • I want carrier ops!
    • I want two seater cockpit!
    • If Flying Legends will have only ww2 planes, so it has to be independent from moderns..
    • Flying Legends must have helicopters.

To be completely honest,I was hoping for something with a tail hook. That said and not to sound like an ingrate to the dev team who are working hard on the Pony.

I'm very, very excited to be able to fly a P-51 that is done to DCS high Standards.

Thank You ED/TFC

P-51D Mustang is the History of US Air Force, ED with this Airplane make a History, this airplane is a very crazy horse, difficult to drive, it will be a challenge to tame. A plane that surely transmit emotions in the pilot. Thanks Eagle Dynamics

Simulatori: DCS A-10C II Warthog - DCS F/A-18C Hornet - DCS F-16C - VRS F/A-18E -
HOTAS: TM Warthog - Cougar \ HP Reverb G2 \ WinWing Panels

Tally: I see the degenerate commie who wants to ruin our day.

I don't get this one..

I want WW2 scenery, not just a WW2 plane!

Obviously we'll have WWII theaters, A/C, bombers, ground vehicles and everything to recreate our favorite battles .. e.g., Bulge, Peenemunde, D-Day, and escort missions up the ying yang.

(In addition to visible birds, how about some deer, a la Jane's WWII fighters? ) ;)

I wish Thrustmaster would come out with a P51 stick

:lol::thumbup:

I too dislike the poll options. Offered instead...

"I welcome Flying Legends as long as it doesn't hinder progression elsewhere...isn't the developmental bottleneck obvious enough?"

What i think?

Terrible mistake.

ED should develop the plane that gave all the fame, a Flanker. Or whatever air/air plane for the DIGITAL COMBAT SIMULATOR. This DCS Module will be a super sell for sure.

If you want to fly P51, IL2, FSX, COD...

Greetings

As much as I do understand and agree with the logic behind the P-51 - I really really......really ... want DCS:- Su-27 Flanker more than any thing in this world.

I am totally happy with WWII aircraft but I realy wish that the simultion includes other AI controlled WWII in a WWII scenerio along with the capibility of flying in the "modern" environment.

Already done very VERY nicely here...

I personally think that ED should be focussing more on the next DCS modern fighter jet, as this is definitely where the general audience wishes the series to go, and where the greatest gap is in modern military simulators. I am ok that ED are adding ww2 fighters to their set list, and can see that it is an intelligent move for them to stay alive in the market, as a ww2 study sim would be faster to create, and easier from a licenseing perspective, allowing them to bang several out fairly quickly. However for me there are a few concerns.

Firstly, ED, while proving wonderful in their ability to faithfully simulate every grueling detail of an aircraft on the study sim level, have always been lacking in resources to complete the picture, with accurate and believable scenarios such as new theaters of war. If we are to bring the mustang to the very same area as previous DCS and flaming cliffs, it will be disappointing. Because of the mustangs historical service record, it is difficult to imagine a scenario where it would be at home in the current area of the world modelled by ED. The draw card of most ww2 sims seems to be the recreation of a historical theater of war. If ED faithfully reproduce the mustang, but fall short in other areas, it will limit both it's potential to be a great sim, and it's potential audiences interest. In saying that I might be wrong, maybe the new audience will accept the wonderfully accurate modeling of the mustang, despite not having an accurate surrounding to fly it in.

My other concern is, how does integrating DCS MUSTANG, with previous DCS series add to the future potential of the DCS multiplayer capability? For me, it seems completely out of place alongside the a-10 and the black shark. And when ED eventually do bring out the next true DCS modern fighter jet, the mustang will be like the elephant in the corner....

At any rate, I will probably get DCS mustang, purely because I love a faithful reproduction of an aircraft, especially one as beloved as the mustang. Now as for online play, maybe if ED continue to bring out more ww2 aircraft, I can see how that would aid the online experience, but until then, I can't imagine too much going on there.

Dimebag may I just say that that is a refreshingly frank way of expressing how you feel.

There has been so much Wailing and gnashing about the Mustang, that I find your views very welcome, in that way you have expressed them.

Just one thing to point out, the focus hasn't left DCS:- Next, that is being developed in parallel with the Mustang.

Bah!

What precisely is "next".

:helpsmilie:

Wrong forum. And it won't be answered anyway, not untill ED is well and ready.

Have to agree with Dimebag. It's nice to have another aircraft to learn to fly, but as long as there is no playground in which to put these skills to the test, I don't see myself supporting the Flying Legends series (at full asking price, at any rate).

DCS A-10C: putting the 'art' into 'warthog'.

(yes, corny. Sorry.)
