Hi all,

some info, should anybody be looking, for CNC or printing in Southeast England. Checked out CNC'ing the simpit using a company near Redhill Aerodrome (where I work) called 'Steel the Scene' who basically CNC for film and TV production. They would supply and CNC in MDF for just over 500 quid (Sterling). Bit rich for moi so I have had the nested plans printed by a company called Lollipop in Crawley (Near Gatwick Airport) for 58 quid. The large sheet plans are printed over 2 half sheets, so a total of 9 sheets for the whole thing. Just need to find the time to work on the simpit now 'cos the wifey keeps finding me jobs in the garden!!!!

By the way RaxHa, did you ask anyone for permission for use of the plans? - I see that for the Ackers & Barnes plans they like an email requesting use, I haven't seen anything for these plans.

Thanks

Fred

To revive this...my pit construction is underway. CNC was not cheap, but a huge time saver. Currently at the stage of veneering the exposed plywood edges. Then final putty where needed and sanding and then time to paint. In retrospect I wish I would have done this in MDF.
