Radio frequency changes

So how does a RL pilot change the frequency? Will there be an option to change the frequency in game settings using a set of rotary encoders like in the A-10C? Thanks

I know you can change them with the mouse but it doesn't seem that you can bind them is what I meant (to my simpit panels rotary encoders). Maybe the dev can chime in if it will be possible in the future

can anyone help? how do I set up radio to 33Mhz FM frequency ? the lowest is 118 ... :(

It's an aeronautical VHF radio. It doesn't go below 118 Mhz :

It's amplitude modulation (AM) and not frequency modulation (FM). It wouldn't work even if you could achieve that frequency anyway. An AM radio and FM radio can't talk to each other even on the same frequency.

The VHF/UHF radio works in the frequency range 118.000-143.975 MHz and 225.000-399.975 MHz. Attempting to enter a value between the bands results in 225.00 MHz and below the lowest band results in 118.000 MHz.

actually the frequencies can't be changed anymore.

Bug present and should be fix soon I read.

good to know, thanks

I'm feeling so silly

Are you sure you have "Easy comms" set to off?

yep

Why do you want to set 33 Mhz in the first place ?

yesterday I've played on some server online and there was an AI UAV, lasing ground targets and it had frequency of 33Mhz FM, I was so frustrated I couldn't talk to him

I'm sure the mission designer can set a VHF AM frequency so other aircrafts can play too.

VHF FM are mostly used by ground troops and some aircraft supporting them...

IRL VHF FM would be used for inter-wing / element comms between the A-10s. And it is correct, other aircraft should be able to use AM radio.

Just to add to this a bit, it can often be used for flight comms as it is he shortest range radio and is KY-58 capable in the A-10, but not always. VHF/AM is really used only for flight comms in any aircraft, the A-10 included.

As jojo says, FMis present in the A-10 primarily to communicate with ground forces, and the A-10 role meant having a third radio just for that job was valuable.

Obviously like most fighters the Mirage doesn't have the need for a third radio, or the VHF/FM range in general. And like most fighters it only has the two radios. Although I will add that multi role fighters can in most cases tune the FM range on at least one of their radios.
