169th_Dredd
This has changed dramatically since 1.1 Seems now you must pull your lift vector onto a bandit now to acquire a lock, instead of a nose on lock. 1.1 Manual states "In this mode, the radar scans an air space 7.5 degrees wide and –2 to 50 degrees vertically. Two vertical lines are displayed on the HUD. To lock up a target, it is necessary to position the target between these two lines or along your lift vector. The maximum vertical scan range is about two HUD heights above your upper HUD frame." Can someone elaborate further the correct function of VS and how its now modelled. Prophet_169th
If you look at the radar screen, you will also notice that the bottom of the scan is higher than you are. Also the line in the HUD doesnt go to the nose, maybe this is a visual indicator of the can zone. And the quote from the manual, is that for the russian? I didnt have a problem locking bandits on nose with MiG29S in VS.
169th_Dredd
Quote from the manual is from the F15 section. ---= 169th Panthers -Flt Lt.- =--- http://www.169thpanthers.com.au AMD64 S939 3700 | 2GB Corsair DDR500 | 21" CRT ATI Radeon X800Pro | 2x36GB WD Raptors | SB Audigy TIR3 | TM-868 | X52 | CH Pedals | Creative 5.1 Spkrs
