Do you use any game profile? If you do take a look on what it has programmed, if not make a simple profile cleaning everything to maximize the buttons available you have, clutch, pinky, even mode button, mouse ones and of course hats, and try again. DCS always recognized all my hats and buttons in my old X52pro without complains.

I like to use the mouse because I figure the clickable cockpit is for functions that are not on the throttle or stick.

I use an old force feedback driving wheel; without power plugged in, it stays where I put it and it gives me six or eight extra buttons. I mount it on a shelf next to my hip, approximately where it would be in a real cockpit. Works great.
