DCS F-35A

Recommended Posts

F-35 already has training units out there IIRC, and all branches are preparing to receive aircraft.

.

Currently all training (USAF, Marines, Navy & the UK) is being accomplished at Eglin AFB, Florida.

And funny enough, around the same time this 3rd party project was announced I see this on the usaf news site...

An F-35A Lightning II joint strike fighter completed the first in-flight missile launch of an AIM-120 June 5, 2013, over the Point Mugu Sea test range in California. The JSF is a multiservice/international cooperation warplane. (Courtesy F-35 Program Office)

LOL.

I find it quite amusing that people are so happy with the A-10C given the number of systems/weapons that are heavily simplified or flat out not modelled, and yet the prospect of the same thing for a Lightning II is somehow so objectionable.

Talkers gonna talk....(yawn)

Fuel tanks in the rudders, interesting.....

Fuel Cells in the Vertical Stabilizers... Interesting...

They pretty much had to cram fuel cells anywhere they had room too, specially the Marine Corps. STOVL version, since the lift fan takes up space normally used by fuel cells and avionics.

Well, reading that they are doing the F-35 ist great news. I´m very curious to find out how complex it is going to be but I think I read in their product presentation that they are striving to achieve A-10C level of fidelity.

In the end it doesn´t matter to me what number between 70 and 95 (%) would have to be used to represent that level - it will most likely be a very interesting module.

Cheers to that, KI!

...and what a thread!

Very amusing to read, but I really can´t understand why people get so upset about this announcement to begin with (sadly, I missed the posts in question) and where the whole idea about ED being scammers came from. I followed a lot of the news releases and threads regarding the issues at the time - lastly, these accusations seem unfounded to me.

We should be happy that firstly there is, in absolute numbers, more information about DCS to be shared that secondly more information is being shared about the projects from ED than before. Complaining about lack of fidelity in the A-10C would also have to be justified by learning all of it´s functions - which is a thing most people around here (including me) probably can´t claim for themselves. It´s a great sim, man - one of the kind that was said te be dead - so why the sad/angry face?! It´s just a game.
