I have 1.5GB video memory. Maximum usage is 765MB.

It's no news that DCS is more CPU-based than GPU.

Heres my stats for the SIM:

attachment.php?attachmentid=42841&stc=1&d=1286299722

Graphs memory usage was between 500-508MB.

As you can see my system was not fully taxed of system resources (Neither CPu or GPU, memory even less) so I believe the SIM can and will be improved on the perfomance front. :)

Quite right so.

However, this graph IMHO shows you are being bottlenecked by your cpu, as the one running the sim main thread is almost maxed out.

yes the CPU does look the weakest link. However situation is reversed when I disable SLI. The solo chip is maxed out completely flat at the top of the scale. 9000 series are just not powerful enough to crank the graphs up, indicating possibly the need for series 200 and up, and ATI equivalents.

I guess you run at high res and a lot of AA and AF?

When taking off at the start of the 'Shooting Gallery' mission the town at the end of the runway flickers like mad, I will try some Nvidia driver settings to see if I can improve matters.

doh...I had override options at global settings as I forgot to create an NVIDIA profile for DCS...

However the FPS remained the same with SLI on just as the pics show (GPU's on 50%)

How much memory your card has? 512MB?

Mine too. And I see occasional color shifting (like rainbow psychedelics after taking LSD :D ) and what appears to be some Z buffering trouble on some ground textures surrounding buildings in relation to the terrain. I have flown mostly around Nellis in quick mission and first mission of instant action.

Both done to no avail. Directx updated and Catalyst 10.9 installed.

TEXTURES HIGH causes the mission not to start properly, sometimes it sends me back, sometimes I have to find my way out clicking on the corrupted fonts.

Res. 1920x1080 if that helps.

Cheers

In the startup tutorial there was 1 cloud that was flickering. I pan around the whole area and it is the only cloud flickering. It looked exactly like the cloud flickering problem in LOFC except only the single cloud. Reloaded the game and it went away. I wanted to FRAPS it but haven't been able to reproduce it yet. Hardware config is in my sig. This was with the 32bit exe on Windows 7x64. Everything set to high 1920x1200 resolution.

No not realy. only 1680X1050, 8X AA, 8X AF. In SLI mode there is not much impact (60% load only) when switching on the shaders, but with 1 chip theres a 10 FPS difference. Without these shaders performance is similar with SLI on or off.

The 8800/9800 cards are on the weak side nowadays.

Nvidia driver profiles-game detected as Blackshark

The Nvidia driver is detecting DCS:A10C(32 & 64 ) as DCS:Blackshark and using those settings. Cannot delete the profile because it is integrated into the driver. I think its because the driver only looks for DCS.exe running and doesn't do a version check or anything. Not sure what driver level fixes Nvidia may have done for Blackshark but I would guess that they are not applicable to A10C ?

I restored the profile to default so as not to cause instability until I can see what effect they have.

Note: When the DCS:Blackshark .exe was renamed to simulator.exe in the 1.02 patch the driver started using the same settings as FC2 since they both now have the same name. The driver level fixes that are being used are for DCS:BLackshark 1.0

Very confusing. Not sure how to fix unless each game has a different .exe name or Nvidia's driver does a better detection method to distinguish between programs...

Noticed the same. Its because the EXE is named the same. Whatever changes you make, it affects both SIM's. I tested and verified this. Once both modules are updated to the same standards, it wont make much of a difference.

Switching between whitehot/blackhot/tv mode using the litening pod totally blurs out the MFCD it's on. Not sure if thiis is due to my video card or an in-sim bug. No..I didn't test this in a mission where I added 500 tanks. It happens regardless of the mission.

FLIR is a lower resolution than the CCD, try zooming out again, this effect may be subject to further tweaking.

I have a Nvidia 260, with the latest drivers, and I experience the same flickering of the town, with very bright colors. Also see flickering at the airbase on buildings and distortion of runway textures when approaching from 2000 ft.

SLI enabled = flickering

Hi folks

This has probably been covered, and I'll no doubt receive some flak, but I thought I'd pitch in...

I searched on this and found nothing. When SLI is enabled on my eVGA/nvidia GTX 295 boards, DCS Warthog flickers when it enters the loading screen for a mission. It also will not load the mission. It just sits idle. However I am able to access Task Manager and close DCS to get things back to normal. Oddly, DCS does not close but instead returns to the mission select screen.

When I disable SLI, everything works as it should. The sim loads, etc.

Is this just a Beta issue? Will SLI be supported in the final release? I have never had this problem in any version of LOMAC or Black Shark.

Thanks, and apologies in advance if this has been covered. If so, a pointer would help greatly. Thanks!

Don't know if this is due to this being a BETA or hardware/driver issue... I have missing terrain in mirrors on pretty much any settings... but I noticed on Water = Low only some parts of terrain are on/off but when Water = High no terrain is shown in mirrors (screenshot 1). I also find some buildings disapear in mirrors on very close distance.

Also the building/textures in screenshot 2 are flickering non-stop and changing any settings I can't seem to find any difference (still flashing)

PC setup as per signature

Now I know my CPU is overclocked and you guys have said not to report anything if things are overclocked but I can't see this being the reason for missing terrain and flickering of textures so anyway... if no one can replicate this and I you want me to try something else let me know

Edit: Screenshot 3 is on all setting on their max, only scenes are on Medium, but shows again terrain is missing in mirrors, and also there's some funny looking green texture that shows at certain angles.
