One possible solution would be to move the original file (make a copy first) and put it outside the DCS root folder (in new folder), then decompresses there in that new folder new dds files. Now move the dds files within the zip (the original file of the textures of the cockpit). Should allow you to move them without any problem. Making and modifying a copy, in a folder you have full access to, and the copying it over the original should work, IIRC.
