JunMcKill
Can you discuss this privately or somewhere else? This thread should only be used for registration and suggestions towards the 51st & Flankerator. The rules are set...If you do not like it then do not attend to it. We do not want F15 vs Flanker or any kind of these discussions here. I think Flanker can rename the subject of the original post for SATAC 2016 aircraft poll and make a new one of SATAC 2016 ONLY REGISTRATION
Dr.Goose
It's not your vote Goose, it's one vote for squad, AFAIK Registered lonewolves can also vote and I will sort out a unified vote for all of them based on the majority. Thanks Soooo, yes I'm allowed to vote but it doesn't count as much, because I'm not a squadron (which is the way it should be)

Bushmanni
I just tested the bubble script in MP and it seemed to work well. Bushmanni
Good job Bushmanni. Can you also implement it in this mission and test that it works as expected? http://forum.51st.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=3279 Here you are. I just made a quick test to see that the script runs in this mission but more extensive testing was done on a different mission. You can add or remove plane slots into this missions as you see fit, they can also airstart from inside the bubble. AI planes probably don't work but I haven't tested.SATAC 2016 comp6_script_version.miz DCS Finland: Suomalainen DCS yhteisö -- Finnish DCS community -------------------------------------------------- SF Squadron
Bushmanni
Here's also the latest version of the script file. I added check for landing inside combat zone to immediately remove ditched planes from the area to keep the script working in case someone crashlands but doesn't explode on impact. Script also adds script events into the dcs.log in the users folder with timecode so referee can check times when pilot enters/exits the battle area, etc. The lines are hidden amidst all other game engine activity so all lines from my script have text "SATAC" in them so they can be found with text search.SATAC zone check_30-8-2016.lua DCS Finland: Suomalainen DCS yhteisö -- Finnish DCS community -------------------------------------------------- SF Squadron

FLANKERATOR
A quick heads up guys: - Mission file is being finalized and will be posted soon for everyone to use and practice. Thanks to Frostie and Bushmanni. - Registration deadline has been set to September 10th. Brackets and order of play will be posted shortly after that. - Each team will be required to pit 6 pilots for each match. Failing to do so will end up with the team starting off the fight outnumbered. - To all lonewolves who have posted their applications, please get together and come up with a unified and confirmed list, which needs to be posted here along your team name, logo (optional), and team leader. The team leader would be the person to speak to if anything. As the kick off closes in I will publish a detailed order of play for the entire first weekend. *Rage*
Hey Sweep, here is the plan: 17:30z check in 17:45z briefing ans set up 18:00z first of batch matches (5matches simultaneously on 5 different servers) 19:30z second batch of matches (5 matches again) 21:00z end of day 1 22:30z kick off of the F-5 vs MiG-21 Grudge Match round 2 (different event) A few teams may have to play two matches in a row depending on the schedule. As the kick off closes in I will publish a detailed order of play for the entire first weekend. I think flying up to two matches then maybe flying in Ramseys 21vF5 tourney is too optimistic and far too tiring. Also some rounds can take up to 45 mins so I think the timing is optimistic as well:) The event hosts are the 51st, TAW and the 104th. We expect the tournament will take a few weeks to finish but there will be some flexibility in organising individual matches. Given the need to have a backup server standby and also have admins officiate I think 4 matches a day is maximum. We had a practice match with TAW which lasted 4 hours. I will liaise with the other server hosts to organise match timings once the registration deadline expires and the draw is finalised by yourself. FLANKERATOR
There will be 5 servers normally, 3 from TAW, one from 51 and one from 104 so 5 matches can be kicked off at the same time. This edition is based on a bubble concept, meaning no RTB and only best of 3 rounds not best of 5 rounds. I think if the servers and players are ready on time, the schedule above won't be too optimistic. I don't think the event should span over too many weekends, people can not commit to more than a couple weekends in a row, 3 at most and even then, only those still winning would need to turn up if a 3rd weekend is needed. Catch up matches being organized on weekdays is a good idea though once again, expect many no shows as people work, so its always better to stick to the schedule as much as possible. I will work on the brackets after the 10th and will also liaise with hosts to post a finalized order of play. *Rage*
We had a discussion with TAW and SF today and 10 matches a day is not going to happen. We look forward to Flankerator posting the seedings and brackets once the registration deadline expires. Following that the server hosts will publish match times. Come on pilots! Rally your squads and register! FLANKERATOR
It's not 10 matches a day, it's 2 matches a day at most per team and this is not the first time SATAC is running. SA-Sim will post the brackets and the order of play as well just like last time. The order of play has always been flexible just like in Top Gun, stating the exact time of the first matches only then followed by next ones whenever the previous ones are done. So if it appears 2 is not possible time wise then we will reschedule. Other considerations that I'm planning to implement in the order of play is to avoid having teams hosting their own matches so all matches are played on neutral servers.
