Why not Algeria to your countries list?

Hi DCS team, thank you very much for the great work you done too this awesome modern air combat simulator. I want just to ask you if you can officially add a countrie to your countries list, because I see that a lot of arabic stats was added, their is one of them that you can add, we alreaddy have most of the skins used by the Algerian Air force, we just need an official adding for the next DCS update if possible, we most use russian made fighters and other units this is an exhaustive list of what we have or we had :

I agree with you. Every single country of the world should be added to the list.

to be honest, i'd prefer it if they filled out the current nations properly first, since a lot of them are missing equipment and proper skins.

Yeah true, it will be good if they add countries that have real fire power because lot of countries worldwide dont have an air force for exemple, so they can at least add the 40th strongest AF to the list, for the exemple of Algeria I already gave the list of all hardwares used by my countrie and found in DCS so a big help for them.

Otherwise it closes the door to a lot of scenarios.

Even without considering the scenarios, if I'm in Canada and I fly a Mirage-2000C, then I want to be able to fly a Canadian Mirage. Simple.

P. S.: In other words, aircraft/weapons availability and skins is up to the mission designer. The game engine should only have a sandbox role.

Now that second option I do agree with - to some extent, as it kind of defeats the purposes of having aircraft in specific - per country inventory (again accuracy) but then again if it's up to the mission designer (which every mission is) then yes I definitely see your point and I do agree with you there

Also, fixed inventory is a fixed point in time.

Ideally, we would load "inventory configurations" for each country (ex "UK 1980" or "Generic West 1960", "Low tier 2001").

As of now, the only thing that can be done is study the technologies then tailor the available equipment according to the scenario needs.

I'm sure its in a file somewhere, the bigger question is whether or not the aircraft read that file or have their own file stating the fixed day 1. I kind of wonder if changing the years might have unintended consequences. I mean the space shuttle couldn't fly over during New Years due to how the software was programmed, who knows how the Black Shark avionics might fair getting sent back to November 5 1955. But I digress.

I've long wished for a more diverse and capable system of countries and the objects assigned to them. Given the number of assets we have currently, overall lack of specific variants, and how ED have been adding new stuff to existing countries, I'm not sure we will see a change anytime soon. As DCS grows, the list of objects will slowly grow as a bigger and bigger annoyance to deal with.

If you want to do a little more work, list a couple squadrons for each of these units, I can submit it as a feature request. As well, if you can yourself, paint up some schemes for them as well.

Not only Algeria, most of north Africa's nations + theater. That would bring a lot of scenario possibilities and inspiration. :thumbup:

Yeah true, it will be great to have such theater with north west algeria, morocco, south spain, portugal and Gibraltar pass. Last skin, the MiG-15Bis

Hi, this thread was created to add Algeria to DCS countries list not to add a map ;) BTW the north of Algeria is not plate, we have the Atlas chain and more than 20 airports and runways in the north, but as I said this thread wasn't created for a map.
