lukynoo92
Hi all, At now, I have 8 GB RAM on my system (lenovo Y510p notebook, Win 8.1 64). My question is. Will be upgrading of RAM to 16 GB (2 X 8GB 1600, CL9 Hyper X) huge change in performace? Should I invest money to this upgrade, or RAM has not so that big impact on performance in new DCS. I have no possibilities to test it, so I am asking. What can I expect from that upgrading. Exorcet
8GB seems to be fine for now, however note that the min RAM for Nevada (and possibly future maps) is 16. lukynoo92
so, at now, what can I expect from this upgrade? Sorry for my stupid questions, but this upgrade costs something and I dont spend my money to „nothing”. Brisse
"Nothing" is exactly what you should expect right now. As for the Nevada map, that could be a different story.

TurboHog
In the store page says minimun Ram for Nevada is 8GB. True Check out Matt's computer specs in his signature. Unless he upgraded and forgot to change his signature, Nevada will run just fine on 8Gb. Although he doesn't fly in multiplayer servers with 20+ players... BitMaster
By all means, get 16GB :) 8GB is slower overall, SSD is also less boosted, etc.. even browsers dare to take 2-4GB these days, what u wanna do with 8 ??? its not my part, but why Wags has 8 only is a miracle for me, looking at his 1TB SSD. he'd read the ssd articles describing ram-ssd corelation for ssd-lifetime, wearing and speed ( cache ). 16gb clearly passes 8gb in this. my 2 cents Edited October 7, 2015 by BitMaster Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Asus 1080ti EK-waterblock - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus PG278Q 27" QHD Gsync 144Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
BitMaster
btw, offloading needs ram, if you fill 8gb to the max and then want to close that prog...you will then know why you should never ever use all your ram. just a wink with a 10ft pole :) Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Asus 1080ti EK-waterblock - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus PG278Q 27" QHD Gsync 144Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
