Changing Graphic Card - Issues with DCS?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I finally pulled the trigger on a brand new GTX 970 since my old card was slowly dying.

I heard that when some people change their card or any other hardware, they run into registry issues (or something like that) with DCS modules, especially in multiplayer...

I am not a very lucky person and I prefer not to take any chances, so I'd like to know... What is the commonly used procedure? Do I have to uninstall all modules? Do I have to uninstall the whole game? Do I have to delete registries somewhere in order to re-activate everything?

Deactivate your modules,

Switch cards,

Reactivate.

But doing so will spend one activation. If I recall correctly, a single graphics card update doesn't make you exceed your hardware change points

My rig specs:

Intel Core i7 4770 @3.4Ghz // Corsair 16GB DDR3 // MoBo Asus Z87K // HDD 1TB 7200RPM // eVGA Nvidia GTX 760GT 2GB DDR5 // LG 3D 47" 1920x1080 // Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS // Saitek Combat Pro Pedals // Thrustmaster MFD Cougar pack // PS3 Eye + FTNOIR

If you deactivate you get an activation back iirc.

No a GPU change doesnt, but if hes made any other changess prior it may exceed the points

Each license (disk) has initial 10 activations plus AAA technology (described below).

If StarForce detects changes to your computer hardware/software as described below, an

activation will be required.

An activation will be required if the hardware/software changes exceed 12 points as rated

below:

CPU ID: 13

Windows PID: 3

Computer Name: 3

Hard drive volume serial number: 3

MAC address: 6

RAM amount: 6

No, but it will waste one of your 'never going to be replenished' deactivations which you should not need to use in the first place.

If a GPU is 0 points, then how can adding it to any prior changes, suddenly, increase the number of points.
