SEAD missiles .

Can we split the anti-shipping stuff up into its own thread? About the only relevant data that is shared between SEAD and anti-shipping is the usage of SEAD weapons on a ship and the missiles are exploding off the rail.

Yes, I agree lets split the Anti-ship stuff and also lets split stuff about Anti-radar missiles Warheads and their detonation Mechanism.

Damn..., these whole guy are right when they're talking about the issue with the ARM missiles blowing up ahead shortly after launch..., but i've tested it today and it seems it only happens to clients, and as i was playing as server, these problems wouldn't happen to me at all (except for that Molynia ship, which is something else) and i was able to fire and forget the missiles, from any range or altitude, with no problems. This problem affects more other servers though.

So it was only when my team mate and other players noted me that there's something wrong with their missiles, then i watched them firing all their ARM missiles from different altitudes, ranges, whatever..., and they were all blowing up in front of them!

Can anyone from the testers team confirm the bug? MP SEAD is unplayable at the moment, especially when there are H46, H50 and other SRs. On SP there is no problem to take them out, missiles work fine. On MP the only way to take those SRs out is with the use of 25mp or other non ARM missiles, ARM missiles EXPLODE!!!

Im really disappointed with the SU-25T sead missiles again . Did a quick sead mission to help some A-10 with an attack , and all six didn't get a strike again !

4 of the MHP missiles blew up right in front of my canopy again , while the 2 58 missed .

I thought this issue had been addressed .

I wont bother doing sead again until the issue is addressed .

I would have thought this would be high on the ED llist of fix's ..... as it completely cancels the sead role and possibily the ability to strike some targets effectively .

Pissed off ................

Yeah I just experienced the same on 104th server. Most exploded infront of my face when the Radar emitters stayed on etc. Nothing ended up hitting. It was one of those attack(Blue) vs defense(Red) missions, not sure if it's something with the mission or the Sim, but in any case, 2 words: backwards compatibility.

Its definitely a MP bug.And it is there, for too long. I hope it will get older and die by itself:doh:

They have just released version 1.2.6 and I am stilling updating. So, anyone has still problem with the sead missiles exploding after a locked launch ? They manage to correct this problem in this patch (1.2.6) ?

And yes ! this I m referring to the multiplayer issue ? not the single player...:)

Is the ARM missiles exploding bug not fixed?

When flying the RAF server today I have, again, encountered exploding ARM missiles. Could it be, that I am launching them at an incorrect altitude or, say, airspeed? Or is it still a bug and I shouldn't bother flying SEAD altogether?

Track file attached.

Ok here it is, once and for all.

Kh-25MPU and Kh-58 exploding is NOT A BUG.

It's the correct behavior of these anti-radiation missiles.

Thanks! I did not know they have changed the behavior of the SEAD missiles to be more realistic but that is great news.

By the way ED, when you look at missile, can you have them really rely on radar signal instead of "uber TV mode that can lock only SAM ?"

So far - when a SAM radar turn off and move, the missile keep tracking it like a TV mav' would do, even thru building.

I don't understand:

...

Those SRs will auto-explode your missiles if you launch and it takes more than 2 secs for the radar to paint again.

...

or

...

The anti-radar missiles will keep going to the last known position of the target even if it turns off its radar or stops tracking and switches back to search or another target.

...

Can you explain?

...

SEAD is an Art. 8)

I agree

I don't get why people would intentionally withhold information that could help others in a sim game. My only guess is to make yourself feel better than others. At any rate, thanks for sharing.

Me either, especially since this information isn't in the DCS Su-25t manual.

SEAD worked flawlessly in Flaming Cliffs, and now all of a sudden all the mechanics are changed with no explanation or documentation on it (that I can find anyway).

If this guy knows how it works, why not explain everything you know to help the community get acclimated to the new system?

How does holding useful information benefit you?

Just looking at his altitude gauge explains some of it :)

Crap, all Kh SEAD missiles just explode after launch. Isn’t this fixed? It’s a mission breaker :(

What were you shooting at? And was it in single player or multiplayer?

Just what exactly is it that RShift R is doing to the SPO Beryoza? The SU-25T manual states that it cuts emitters operating in aquisition mode, but what does it leave then? Tracking mode? Or something else?

The only thing I will disagree with you eXPeRT is ECM.

It has been countlessly explained before, ECM is not modeled against SAMS in DCS currently, not realistically, or even at all to be honest. They hope to implement electronic warfare sometime in the future, but not on this engine it seems.
