Multi Monitor Setup - 1920X1080, 1280X1024

I usually don't resort to asking questions on forums but I have been unable to figure this out. I have tried editing .lua files, installing "Easy Monitor Configurator" and everything else I can think of but to no avail. I am trying to replicate my left and right MFCDs on the 1280x1024 monitor that is to the left of my 1920x1080 screen. Can anyone help?

Move the second monitor to the right and then try.

Moved it to the right, but still can't get both MFCDs on the secondary monitor. Any help? Running the most current version of DCS World - 1.2.11.

Make sure you have set the correct resolution (for the combined monitors) in Options. Also make sure that 'full screen' is unchecked.

Thank you for the information. Do you suggest that I use Helios instead of messing with .lua settings?

No. Helios has nothing to do with exporting the MFDs (and the other exportable items). Helios merely provides framework graphics along with active switches and knobs. The two actually compliment each other.

EDIT: When you export an MFD, all you will get is the MFD screen image (no buttons). Helios provides the frame and working buttons.

I've got Helios set up on my second monitor but am overwhelmed with the steps to take to get the MFCDs to report to Helios..

The MFCDs should be easy. The export is turned on by default, so you just need to tell the sim where to put them. Don't even think about Helios until you get the export working, then you can worry about getting them in exactly the right place.

If you have the basics correct, it might be a simple mistake in your monitor lua (Trust me, it is easy to overlook something when you have no idea what you are doing - speaking from personal experience;) ).

Are you sure they aren't under Helios? What profile are you using?

Helios always displays on top of whatever else is being displayed. Exports have to be located in clear areas. Sorry if you knew that, just covering bases, as this part should not be an issue.

I'm using Lox SM V2.1 in Helios...not sure how to make them visible over it.

If they are located in the upper right and left corners, then you should see them through the open areas in the MFDs.

Without Helios running, are the MFDs showing somewhere close to where they belong?

Yes, they are located at the top left and right corners. Without Helios running, they show up in the approximate spots they're supposed to be.

Loz's profile is designed for a standard 1080p display. I assume you must have changed it in the Helios editor so that it works on a smaller screen.

I use that profile as well on a 1080p screen and I have never had a issue.

Helios requires you to run DCS World in Windowed Mode.

The only other way to see what's going on is to post a raw screen dump (Print Screen Button, then Alt+TAB and Past into a photo editor and save as image). then also attach the monitor LUA. and modified Helios profile.

I Run 6+ Screens when in full sim mode, and usually 4 for DCS A-10C w/ Helios and 3 for FC3/Aircraft that dont export gauges.

Where I am confused is this. Helios does not care what else Windows or another application has on screen. It will ALWAYS be on top. However, there are transparent areas in the LOZ profile. If you run the profile without DCS running, you will see your desktop through those transparent areas, like this:

If you have those transparent areas and your MFD exports are in the same area, I cannot conceive of any scenario where the exports would not be visible ONLY when Helios is running along with DCS.

he may have turned on the black background layer. or something along those lines.... Helios is a always on top application.

Skatezilla may be correct, I could've turned on the black background. I'm away from my computer but will post back later.

That is why I was asking about changes to the profile. Good to know we may be on the right track.
