Finally completed the Ultimate Argument campaign and I have to say that it was absolutely excellent. $10 for such an incredibly well put together campaign is ridiculous value for money.

The final mission felt immense with so many contrails streaking through the air. Flying back to Guadata in the dying evening light with the epic closing music playing was fantastic.

Loved it! :)

I just went trough the first mission briefing, will start playing it when I have time.

Is it a very long campaign? also, I was hoping for something with a strong narrative background.

Finished it yesterday. It was worth every penny.

The missions are very rich in variety and show what you can do with the SU-27. You have to escort Awacs, intercept fighters/bombers, do Ground Attacks with different weapons on different targets, escort civil airliners etc... It just never gets boring, and no mission was like another one before.

Nice voiceovers too.

Difficulty is also okay, it is not very hard so it does not get frustating. Still I would have liked to go against a few F-18, F15 etc...

I just had two minor issues:

In one Mission, your AWACS does not take off (discussed in another thread) and in one mission, I had to cover SU-24, that were attacking AAA around an Airfield. Somehow their first missiles missed, and then they did not fire again and were just circling around. At some point I decided to do their task and destroyed the AAA with my Su-27's gun:lol:

Then I was able to continue the mission.

But altogether, this is one of the best (if not the best) campaigns in DCS for me so far. I am really hoping for more DLC for the other aircraft.

I still have to finish the campaign, but the *SPOILER alert* mission in which u have to bring down an awacs it's simply great

I still have a few missions left but I'll give a 8 out of 10.

pros:

- missions and briefings seem to be well thought out

- believable voice acting

- good number of missions (20)

- no major bugs

cons:

- some of the missions are a little on the easy side (IMHO)

- I'm not sure if the missions have any random elements to them. If not, this would add to their replayability.

All in all, pretty good. I'm sure I'll go through the campaign again in the future.

I'm looking forward to trying this campaign once my new SSD arrives (didn't have the space to install it before) I don't really know how to use the SU-27 properly yet and have very little flight time on it in favour of the F-15c. But learn by doing and all that...

Just picked this up today, along with the Su-27.

Reading all the good reviews of this campaign I am really looking forward to playing it as I had DCS un-installed.

I am currently re-installing right now and hope this will get me into DCS again.

The price of $3 each is a steal, IMO.

Mick. :)

It is a good campaign but personally it is a bit dissapointing in its difficulty (easy) and setting. I feel that the history its kinda simplistic, there is not much of an convincing conflict environment detailed in the briefings and , sorry for this, but i was expecting something more epic and with, let say, more complex missions. I mean, massive sead attacks with pgm againts intense sam and air cover. ¿Where are the F-15!?, drama is essential when making a campaign because you need the sense of being at war and that your work matters). And if you want to simulate Georgia, using F-4 an F-5 ex turkish is rather lame, i liked the use of F-16 though but you get my point. Still, its a very wel designed campaign, great acting, triggers and weather/time decisions. But i hold my previous statement. I hope that your future campaign will raise the bar.

Thank you for your great job, keep DCS the best combat simulator

Just finished the Campaign, i completed the last mission without firing a single shot saddly... my wingmen and the other flight of su27 took care of all the bogeys. all in all its a nice but simple campaign... i would have expected more production for a paid campaign... I am glad i bought it for 3$ during the sale... but all in all keep creating campaign missions and yes please raise the bar a bit... I beleive belsimtek's mi8mtv2 and huey campaigns were awesome!

key has only 3 activations ?

Yes. But like the modules, every so often once you use them all you get another, and you can always deactivate before major system upgrades or uninstallations and you get a key back.

For example, I upgraded my processor and RAM recently. That would require a reactivation and burning one. Anytime you change hardware or majorly upgrade your OS it causes a need to reactivate. But I thought ahead, deactivated all my modules and campaigns first, and Nevada, didn't lose an activation when I re-activated it post hardware upgrade.

And on this campaign in particular to any on the fence - it's brilliantly done, and a lot of fun. A steal for the price. In the space between modules I wish more campaigns would be created. They are a lot of fun. :pilotfly: We all wish for dynamic campaigns of course, scripted is always too short and re-playability is lessened, but it's a good price for the hours you get out of it nonetheless. Well acted and the weather/triggers/missions were great for what they had to work with.
