bengo Posted February 1, 2014 Share Posted February 1, 2014 Hi, it's probably a pebcak-errorbut I can't get TACAN to display distance in the singleplayer "Shooting gallery mission", even after re-saving it in 1.2.7. I can hear the tone just fine and the needle points towardthe tanker, but the distance-window is blocked. Tried it in multiplayer and it worked fine. Does anyone know how to fix it, because I want to use that mission to practice refueling. I did manage some progress : I went into the "advanced waypoints" of the tanker in the ME and fiddled with the radio frequency and now it seems to work. Has TACAN anything to do with the radiofreqiency (150 AM or FM ) ? I also saw that in the vriefinf it says 150FM, while in the ME it says AM and in the advanced waypoint settings" it was FM (or AM can't remember). Might have something to do with the 150MHz-radio-threat someone else just started. Phantom453 Posted February 2, 2014 Share Posted February 2, 2014 In addition to having your TACAN switched to the correct TACAN mode for a tanker, as discussed above, ensure your navigation system is in TACAN mode by selecting the TACAN button behind the joystick (rather than being in steer point mode or ILS mode etc.). If the distance is greater than 99 then the distance will be blocked. Not sure if this is realistic or improperly modeled in the sim but this has been my experience with it. Maybe the mission was made in an earlier version of DCS World and got somehow corrupted. I wonder what would happen if you deleted the tanker and readded it. EDIT: Ya, I deleted the tanker and readded it and it worked. I could see the bearing and distance. So, it's a mission bug.
