Hardware change.

I use 3 HDisk partitions.

1st is my Windows System

2nd is where my games are installed

3rd is a storage space.

As i want to expand the capacity of the 2nd partition

i have to delete and rearrange 2 and 3 partitions from

Windows installation. The 1st partition will not change

but i have to copy or re-install DCS and modules in the

2nd after i expand it.

Will this taken from DCS as a hardware change so i will

lost 1 activation from KA-50 and FC3 modules ?

I don't think that would be seen as a hardware change but if it is (as a hard drive volume serial number change), it would be a small one, which would not be an issue if this is the only change you have made since activating.

This is how the hardware changes are counted.

An activation will be required if the hardware/software changes exceed 12 points as

rated below:

• CPU ID: 13

• Windows PID: 3

• Computer Name: 3

Hard drive volume serial number: 3

• MAC address: 6

• RAM amount: 6

Of course, to be safe, you can always deactivate (using up a deactivation) to save the activations.

ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1

Activations of DCS products is not impacted by any peripherals.

You mean that now is not related to hardware configuration

that is present while installing DCS modules ?

In past, i started KA-50 version 1 (by mistake) with no HOTAS

attached (as they were while install) and i missed 1 activation.

To expand the capacity of partitions you don´t have to delete any files. Just use a tool like Partition Wizard or others.

Does changing graphics card not add any points thinking about getting a new one soon think when i put my new SSD might have used 3 points already.

According to ED's documentation, the list I posted is the complete list of items that will affect activations.

ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! I have never use such tools before so i can't locate an accurate one.

Yes i understand and thank you for this cichlidfan.

RAM amount is six points. If you haven't made any other changes then there should be no need to use a deactivation.
