Wont activate in New computer

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Excuse me if I cant figure this out as I did read multiple threads and still no luck.

So I bought a new computer. I downloaded all the modules into the new computer. I DEACTIVATED the modules in the old computer. I enter the serial keys of the modules in the new computer when prompted and then. Nothing. "serial key is wrong or incorrect" message. I am using the wright serials?

Any help would be great. THanks

If you are not using steam,

log into the module manager in game with your username and password ( obviously makes sure you have a online connection )

Once you have done that it should download the modules you have purchased.

If you are still having issues post back or contact support for more help

BIGNEWY thanks.

I have already been able to download all my modules. I can only play the SU25T and mustang cause its free of course.

For example. When I want to play an A-10C mission I am prompted to enter the serial key for the A-10C. i do that for all my modules and it tells me every time I have the wrong key or typed it in wrong.

Ticket has already been sent.

i think you should do this !!!

If you are having issues getting them to activate at all after the hardware change, you can find some registry files to apply at the bottom of this page: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/faq/activation_wiki/

(What they do is effectively to wipe the relevant registry entry, giving the activation system a clean slate from whatever was confusing it. You can also do this manually if you know your way around regedit, you would then basically just delete the keys for the modules in Computer > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Eagle Dynamics )

Those regfiles are most relevant if you are getting either "Integrity fault of the activation key" error or "invalid hardware code" error.

No Dice!

this is not the message I get. Nor is it the issue.

"The system requires the correct Serial Number of the application to perform this operation. The serial number entered is wrong or mistyped. Enter a valid Serial Number and Try again.

This is what Im getting. There is no WAY!!!! they are wrong or mis typed at this point.

You didn't list the new system OS but are you running DCS World with administrator privileges?

I had a similar problem a long time ago and it turned out to be not running with administrator privileges, once that was corrected, the registry license keys that falcon30 pointed out above had to be deleted and it worked after that.

Thanks txmtb,

But I am the administrator. And because I used a laptop before I deactivated all my modules in DCS World.

I have gone the regedit way and there is only one line waiting to accept a serial key. Really nothing there to delete because Ive never used any of these modules on this computer before. Its brand new out of the box.

Should be 26 Characters

XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX

Activate them Manually one at a time through the <module>protect.exe's

/DCS World/Mods/Aircraft/<aircraft>/bin/

/DCS World/Mods/Tech/combinedarms/bin/

Its possible you're pasting the wrong keys for the wrong activation dialog.

As for suggestions above. there wouldnt be a hardware code conflict, as those keys wouldnt exist on a NEW machine.

There is a difference between running a program from an administrator account, and running it with administrative privileges.

For Win 7/8/8.1, you can right click on the DCS World icon, select the Compatibility tab, and there is a check box at the bottom to run the program as an administrator.

There is usually a little shield on the icon that indicates this needs to be set for a program.

Fixed.

I was entering 18 characters and not 26. I was putting my order number in and not the serial key.....

Go to the penalty box... spend two minutes and feel shame.

thanks guys.
