I was there on the Saturday, was hot as heck, but fun as always :) Was a total Hornet-fest this time, not that I am complaining :)

I was there Saturday too. Ya, could there have been any more Hornet demo's lol

Would have been nice to have the F-16's back at the show.

2 Years ago NAS Oceana had 6, up to 10 if You count individual demos

-2x VFA-106 F/A-18C Ran Twice (Morning And Afternoon)

-2x VFA-106 F/A-18F Ran Twice (Morning And Afternoon)

-4x US Navy Air Power Demo

-1x Boeing Sponsored F/A-18F Demo

-1x U.S. Navy Blue Angels Solo Demo

-1x U.S. Navy Blue Angels

Some Notes:

-Due to Sparse Performers, The VFA-106 Birds Performed Twice Once in the morning once in the afternoon.

-One of the Performers was removed from schedule as his aircraft was having Mechanical Problems, He was scheduled to perform morning and afternoon as well.

Boeing's F/A-18F Privately owned Demonstrator just happened to be at Oceana, Boeing Reps/Pilot Agreed to take the morning slot.

- U.S. Navy Airpower Demo, That year it was literally all F/A-18s, Combination of F/A-18Cs, Es, and F,s and a Few "Aggressor" C's.

Consisted of Fleet Take off/launch (6-8 F/A-18Cs/Es/Fs), BFM/A2A Demo, A2G Bombing Demo [No Pyro that Year due to budget cuts], Fleet Flyby's, Fleet Recovery/Landing). Run time was about 40-50 minutes

-Blue Angels Solo Pilot (or another team member) took off prior to show start, flew down to FLA, switched jets, and flew back to Oceana, he arrived back around 2 PM, held outside of Airspace/Zone until the 2nd empty slot, during which time he did several Tac Demo style passes (Full AB High AoA Banks, etc) for about 10 minutes, before landing, parking in the staging area, being refueled and having the AC towed to the Flight line and parked w/ the rest of the Team about 10 minutes before their show.
