USARStarkey Posted April 11, 2014 Share Posted April 11, 2014 So going purely from memory here, I believe the F4 109 was authorized 1.42 ata boost in nov 42 or something. Top speed going from like 375 to 410mph or so. I have always been curious as to why Germany went to the G-series when on paper that appear to be inferior all the way up till you get to the G-14 in mid 44. While play the new il2, I noticed I couldn't hold 1.42 ata more more than a minute! If this is accurate, it make the switch from E to A make since for sustained performance reasons. However, a video game is not a valid source, so does anyone here know if there is any documentation proving such short boost timeson the F4 at 1.42ata before ruining the engine? Also, i stopped using his site a long time ago when i realized that it serves no other purpose than to twist history by showing only part of a picture, or showing things very out of context.
