Considering it will be released in three weeks, who cares about the tech preview at this point.

The final version of the Windows 10 has been released to testers. And as the testers can keep Windows 10 for free tied to the computer they use (done with Outlook account connection) as long they stay in inner circle (the fast update cycle, so called "beta testing").

DCS has ran well on Windows 10, but the Windows 10 itself is little sluggish on many cases vs. Windows 7.

Where are you devising that from?

Win10 has been great for me with exception on one specific build and its issue with AMD,

As for testers keeping for free, there are minimum requirements on that, outside of Keeping your MS Passpprt.net Avlccount linked and set to receive updates on the fast ring, you had to activate your beta co0y by a certain date, as well as authorize your account and a few other things.

That being said, staying on the fast ring remove any foresight of using that install for everyday use, as one update can breal everything.

10240 wont be the last fast ring build before the 29th, there will be a few more, 10240 is the build chosen for RTM.

Windows 10 aka Let's fix something that is not broken (Windows 7).

I'm sticking with my W7 for as long as it's being supported by Micro$oft.

Well, there is nothing broken in Windows 7, just that there is lots to improve.

Like example small things that you can do with the windows explorer (most came with Windows 8 already) or window manager capability to present open windows more effectively and we finally after decade (since NT4 IIRC) got the official virtual desktops without using a Microsoft tool for it with hack feeling (but hey, why not individual wallpapers per VD? Really?)

But same time they have taken many steps backwards etc.

Gaming yes because of DX. Productivity wise, my Gnome blows Windows out of the water any day. I won't even so much as fart into MS general direction until they come up with an OS that doesn't need an external app to establish a SSH tunnel. Sorry for the OT rant, but that had to be said. ;)

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Hi jcomm, I am sure I read somewhere that once the upgrade has been done, you will then be able to do a fresh install.

I have been dual booting my windows 10 preview builds

Windows 10 build 10240 works fine with DCS World 1.2.16. Running with good frames on a portable test client here. So DCS will work fine on your computer, the only thing preventing it from working would be driver compatibility on what equipment you got that is not compatible with windows 10. The is a driver library at Microsoft that can be queried. Also check producers support sites for Windows 10 updates. Logitech has stated that all currently sold devices are working by default in Windows 10.

that was my only issue at first, drivers.

I had to edit Creatives Drivers to make them install PCI Xfi Drivers for my sound card to work, same for my black magic card.

next thing I mod from 7 to 10 is Windows Media Center :-)

had it workinv in 130 build, but they either patched it to stop users or something else changed.

Playready DRM is in 10, just have to register dlls and get the executable to run correctly.

DCS runs great in Win10, provided you have drivers for all your stuff.

As for productivity, I like the MP desktop setup better in Windows 10 than 7, easier to work on 3 mains and 2 aux screens in 10,

from a gaming standpoint w/ AMD, eyefinity is pretty much the same
