KNEEBOARD Export for 'multimonitorsetup.lua' in all modules - DCS 1.2.4

Recommended Posts

This was the first thing i had done.

Torrent files downloaded. Uninstalling 1.2.7, erased User/Saved Games/DCS. Erased any remaining files form the 1.2.7 installation ( DCS Folder included).

Installation of a clean 1.2.7.

Installation of Kneeboard mod.

UH-1H, changing position=CRASH. Also FC3 kneeboard shakes inside cockpit.

Thats my situation right now.

Esac i am sorry for your problems but that is exactly what i did and it works on mine, the 1 thing i haven't done yet is put back into the kneeboard my own personal files and check lists did you have your own and put them in perhaps.

I am not sure if this could be the reason but will try this today as i have not yet installed all my modules which are A10c KA50 and FC3 are not installed only P51D UH1H Mi8 CA and the obvious which it comes with Su25T.

I have just discovered another think with the kneeboard shake.

When you are stopped at parking area or HAS the kneeboard doesn´t move at all.

When you start rolling along the airbase the kneeboard starts shaking. The fast you move more shaking on the kneeboard.

Weird....

Hey Mirmidon - that's the same exact problem I'm having also. the install is the same with JSGME, so it works...but the "kneeboard shake" is crazy...at this point, I've un-installed this Mod, but it's not the same cockpit feels empty now, lol. I wouldn't mind parting with some $ to get this stabilized and running smooth with 1.2.7.

Hi PeterP

Just to let you know that the "KNEEBOARD_MOD_for_Ka-50" seems to be incompatible with 1.2.7, as when I have it installed, the UV-26 switches/covers on the Aux Panel don't operate in response to mouse-clicks or keyboard shortcuts, leaving me with no countermeasures!

With just the base part of the mod installed this doesn't happen. I haven't actually tried disabling all my mods and just testing with the two parts of the Kneeboard mod, so it's possible there's some state that only happens with this mod and some other installed but I didn't have this problem before with 1.2.6 with the same mods.

EDIT: Seems I have an old version, dated 6/2013, so I'll try this one from 9/2013 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1872190&postcount=136

Got it working thanks.

It was working in the A10C but not the KA-50. I ended up disabling all mods, repairing DCS (it did create a _backup000 folder with a few files in but it still left some extra files in bin\ , so I'm not sure it worked entirely right), Clearing the keyboard bindings and reloading them (I see the kneeboard keys have changed from RCTRL+Left/Right/Up to RShift+[/]/K).

I can't change the kneeboard bindings at all, which seems strange but I don't really want to now that it's working.

Had a weird episode in the UH-1H which crashed when I pressed 2 and said "Could not load file debriefing" on the debriefing screen. The kneeboard mod was the only one I had installed at the time but it could have been a bug in the mission I guess.

Hi all,

I had the same problem in UH-1H as Doveman.

Game crashes when changing positions to copilot or gunners (keys 2, 3, 4) and returns to GUI. I don't think it's a bug in the mission.

I had the kneeboard beta 1.2.6 installed.

I hope Peter P will issue a Kneeboard 1.2.7 version soon, it will be much appreciated...

This is really weird cause i can not replicate this crash what you are talking about i can change seats without any problems at all even with all my mods running at once no crashes what so ever.

I'm using the latest beta version with 1.2.7 and it Works great - Except I cant use or alter keyboard bindings? I have to use a joystick device. This isn't ideal for my setup.

its seems that the keyboard binding field is simply 'blocked'??? I cant even open the dialog box to change key etc

You need to add the commands to the keyboard.lua, for the A10C it would be: C:\Users\xxxxx\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\keyboard\Keyboard.lua

Use Notepad++ to edit the lua and you see how to put them in, if in doubt, back up the original first.

Below are my settings.

{combos = {{key = "]"}}, down = 3001, cockpit_device_id = 100, value_down = 1, name = "Kneeboard Next Page", category = "Kneeboard"},
{combos = {{key = "K"}}, down = iCommandPlaneShowKneeboard, name = "Kneeboard ON/OFF", category = "Kneeboard"},
{combos = {{key = "["}}, down = 3002, cockpit_device_id = 100, value_down = 1, name = "Kneeboard Previous Page", category = "Kneeboard"},
{combos = {{key = "K", reformers = {"RCtrl"}}}, down = 3003, cockpit_device_id = 100, value_down = 1, name = "Kneeboard current position mark point", category = "Kneeboard"},
{combos = {{key = "K", reformers = {"RAlt"}}}, down = iCommandPlaneShowKneeboard, up = iCommandPlaneShowKneeboard, value_down = 1, value_up = -1, name = "Kneeboard glance view", category = "Kneeboard"},

Not sure how I can help, but here is what I found with the kneeboard, I can't use it as the kneeboard keyboard.lua must be imported to "teach" the SIM that the kneeboard exists. This will jack up your keyboard bindings and double up others, caused great pain. I'm able to display the 2D and when not in 2D the 3D is on the knee and in the way of the CDU. I read somewhere that is being worked on??? and for now one will be up when the other isn't. I've abandoned the Knee board in favor of my nook.

I'm using it in the A10C under 1.2.7. Have no issues with it and didn;t do anything special for the install IIRC. Also use JSGME and can apply/remove at will.

Using this one BTW: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1872190#post1872190

Works for you in what module?

Did you tried in FC3? Don´t you see the shaking effect?

Did you tried on the Huey? Don´t you get a crash when changing positions to copilot seat?

Did you tried to reload or refuel in a FARP with a Huey? Don´t you suffer a crash 10 seconds before the rearm-refuel is complete?

I´m suffering this issues since 1.2.7 and this fantastic mod is a no go for me since that.

PD: In the A-10C works with no faults but it´s not enough for me.

This is a great addition to DCS !

Thank you once again PeterP for the incredible amount of time spent on modding, and for sharing the result of your work.

I would like use this mod to have all airfield charts available in the Ka-50, and in the A10, plus some mission-specific info (*.miz included files).

No problem setting it all up, the show/hide and glance keys are working fine, however it seems that I cannot change the displayed page whatsoever.

There are some files in the Common_Charts folder, and some other ones in Custom_Charts\Ka-50. Also, I made another test with a *.miz that had KNEEBOARD/IMAGES.

I'm stuck at the default kneeboard page.

My understanding is that PeterP won't help, as the 1.2.7 version is in BETA, but I read in this thread that multiple users were very happy with the Ka-50 / A10 version. Is there anything I could have done wrong, or plain forgot ?
