gunterlund21
Anyone experience a TOW missile taking a flyer. I shot at a tank about 2.5km out and the missile tracked for a short period then went ballistic at a 45 deg angle skyward. Is this a range issue? I was in Art of the Kill D#@ it!!!! GGTharos
TOW should have approximately 4km of range (technically 3750m), so you are well within range. Please provide a short track of the problem. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

As a former Cavalry Scout and TOW gunner I can speak to this issue. What you just described is what we call a "launch excursion". It can happen for several reasons, snapping a command wire is the most common. The first time I saw it in the sim I cracked up and yelled "Holy sh!t a launch excursion!", I couldn't believe they modeled that. In my opinion however it happens too often in the sim.
