DRAGONs MISSIONPACK

@=STP= Dragon DRAGONs_BlackGoldOfAnapa_V71.miz still causes DCS World 1.1.2.1 crashing. Here's my screenshot. The southern M1s are destroyed, northern M1s are engaging the T-80s, the game crashes...

 

The Chinese in this error message box means:

DCS (BETA) has stopped working

Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.

-> Check online for a solution and close the program

-> Close the program

-> View problem details

I had this miz tested in DCS A10C 1.1.1.1 last night. Since there were 2 players only (including me), I set "unlimited weapons" in mission options. We didn't let the T-80s approach the M1s, so I don't know what's gonna happen when the red MBTs engage blue MBTs.

Could this be a trigger problem?

Why ATC/JTAC aren't working in multi? I joined =STP= server, but couldn't contact ATC, nor JTAC. I tried Red Cross and terrorists missions. I'm using easy comms if that matters, however I've tried in "normal" way and no success either.

@ cohead: Hm.. please post this problem (with track and crash log file) in the problem area in this forum.

I will try to reproduce this problem too.

 

@ Skymad: I noticed that some JTACs are not working anymore. This is a bug in the software and not in the mission.

But please set "easy comms" to OFF and use the realistic setting.

Thank you for the report.

 

For your info: JTAC's are on FM and ATC is on AM.

So you have to switch the Mic-Switch to the correct direction.

In the Radio Menu Header you can read what radio you are using.

Switching to real mode seems to be the working solution :) [..] At least communications are working :P

 

Sadly not every time. :(

Predator JTACs (using "FAC") can't find targets... or can find but won't report...

Same problem as in 1.1.1.1 :doh:

By the way: In RedCrossMassacre the Playboy-JTAC is located in a canyon.

If the mountains covers the radio signal you can not have contact to the JTAC.

Hi KosPilot,

 

Technically you just have to open the mission with the editor of the latest version (1.1.2.1) and save it.

But when you are asking this you may have problems. What's your problem exactly? In what version did you created your mission and what was the last version you have edited the mission with?

 

There are some things you have to know:

 

- If you have added static objects like roadblocks to a vehical group you have to open the mission in v1.1.1.1 again and remove this static objects or change it to vehicals. Else the editor of v1.1.2.1 will not be able to open the mission.

After you removed or changed the static object in v1.1.1.1 you can open the mission in v1.1.2.1 and add the static object to the vehicle group again.

 

- Holding times have changed! The holding time in v1.0.2 was a number of hours and minutes. Now it is the time of day ingame.

Till v1.1.1.1 the holding time was the only way to deactivate a unit to be able to activate it by trigger.

Now in v1.1.2.1 it is possible to use the checkbox "Late activation" for this.

 

- Waypoint types of aircraft have changed since v1.0.2!

In v1.0.2 I often used "Start loop" and "End loop". This waypoints automatically changed to "Off road" (yes! for aircrafts).

You have to set it to "Turning point" and add the Advanced Waypoint Action "Switch waypoint" or "Orbit".

 

- I saw that every "on road" waypoints of moving ground vehicles are a little bit shifted, so I dragged the units and all waypoints and dropped it again. The units and the waypoints will automatically jump back to the road correctly. I don't know if this little things causes problems/crashes but I did this in all my missions.

 

- You have to rearrange Planes and Helos on airfields. (Start from ramp)

Every aircraft on the airfield now have a specific parking-area-number you have to assigne. I think (don't know) if you don't do this it will causes spawning problems in multiplayer.

 

- If you used the marines skin for a US Ka-50 you will see the orange skin-dummy ingame. So you just have to assigne the skin again.

 

- Since v1.0.2 the A.I. was changed massive!

Convoys will dispersal under fire.

Convoys will not stuck anymore and will wait for units fallen behind.

Helos will now hover in save distance and attack ground units.

Artillery needs up to 3min to shoot.

SAM's (HAWK) will not shoot anymore because of ground effects.

Tanks have much longer firing range.

T-72 and T-80 are firing laser guided missiles. (100% deadly for Ka-50's)

 

 

 

You see you have to do many changes. It's not done by "open and save" the mission.

Hi Dragon, could you fix JTAC in RedCrossMassacre? It is not even in radio list. Yesterday I had a funny situation, I reached waypoint, JTAC was not available, I had no idea where the enemies are, so I returned to base :P (yes, I know, pathetic)

Hi Skymad,

The JTAC is not all the time in the radio list.

The JTAC "Playboy" is a convoy driving on road from the FARP to the Red-Cross-Station.

The Convoy will stop in save distance once enemies are in sight.

THEN! (and only then) you will get a triggered message "Playboy is requesting a airstryke, please call JTAC @ Freq...".

Then (and only then) you will find the JTAC in the radio list.

 

Once the enemy is dead, the convoy will move on to the next roadblock and till then the radio list will be empty again.

Is the enemy killed by Ka-50 clients before the convoy arrives this position, the convoy will not stop and will not request a airstryke!

In this case the radio list will be empty too.

 

You'r task is just to fly into the target area, find the convoy with your TGP in the area arround your waypoint and wait for orders!

 

Again: The JTAC is IN the canyon so you need to fly high above the canyon to get a radio signal.

Oh my goodness, a patch is sure to keep us busy then!

The reason I am asking is that I've never made really complicated maps before, so before I start I wanted to know how much work is involved in keeping them up to date.

I guess keeping at it improves my skills, and it will go quicker.

Yes, don't use BlackGoldOfAnapa (DefenseOfBatumi is not released yet)... till the crash is fixed... hopefully.

Oh. It would be nice if we had one of your mixed aircraft mission for thursdays squadnight. Preferably A10 and Su25T.

 

Do you have any of you updated missions ready for us to try out by then?

You can use GudautaRush or OperationBigfoot for example.

No isues reported for this missions and you can choose A-10, Ka-50 and Su-25T.

 

Edit: I dont want to release the next version if the crashes are not fixed.
