Lino_Germany
Found out in my Windows Pictures Library to right click Lino's Beacon map and choose "Open with" Windows Photo Viewer, specifically. This should be the standard procedure to handle the map. Kind regards, Lino_Germany

Flagrum
Downloaded the jpeg file. How do you install it? Where would you like to install it to? It is just a reference to view with an picture viewer application. Or print it out (uhm, maybe not - it is LARGE ...) ejerr11y
I guess I should have asked -- Where to you install the file to get the map and the beacons working with F-86F. Thanks for your quick reply.
NoJoe
I guess I should have asked -- Where to you install the file to get the map and the beacons working with F-86F. Thanks for your quick reply. Are you trying to get the beacon map to show up on the kneeboard in a plane? If so, check out this thread, then give Tetra some +rep. ;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=130720 Otherwise, you don't "install" the .jpeg file anywhere. You just open it and look at it. Dachs
It won't replace the F10 map, if that is what you're after? It's simply a reference map, to be used outside of the sim, on a laptop or a tablet for example. System: Asus z270 A Prime, Intel i7-7700K 4.8GHz, 32GB DDR4, RTX2080, Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD. ejerr11y
Thanks Dachs and NoJoe for setting me straight. I saw Lino_Germany's map/F86F video on Youtube and thought the download was interactive like the map in X-Plane. The laughs on me -- should have thought it out.. Again, thanks a million. Lino_Germany
Hi JohnnyQ. The VOR frequencies are directly from the sim. Here you can take a look at an overview: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/585582/ In principle the VORs work fine, at present there is a "funny" bug, though. Take a look at this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=135283&highlight=VOR Kind regards, Lino_Germany
Joni
Thanks for your reply Lino. I was wondering about how this was actually acquired since I've never seen in the sim any VOR station or an indication there was any. The bug you mention is about signal, but what's happening to me is that when setting the VORs freqs nothing happens, they dont exist. Any ideas? Also, do you have any idea if the ADF function on the UHF of the Huey is modeled in DCS? Thanks agin. Joni
Also, the Vody VOR says 1171 mhz while thats not possible. What would the correct freq be? Lino_Germany
I was wondering about how this was actually acquired since I've never seen in the sim any VOR station or an indication there was any. The VORs are physical objects in the sim. The screenshot shows the VOR at Tbilisi-Lochini. There are five VOR-stations in the current DCS World. The bug you mention is about signal, but what's happening to me is that when setting the VORs freqs nothing happens, they dont exist. Any ideas? Believe me, they do exist but do not work properly at present. Also, do you have any idea if the ADF function on the UHF of the Huey is modeled in DCS? For me, ADF-navigation works fine with the huey. Just watch this tutorial and you will use ADF as your primary navigation method: Also, the Vody VOR says 1171 mhz while thats not possible. What would the correct freq be? Remember that you fly in an eastern environment. Not everything is compatible with western technology. Joni
Understood about the VORs, thanks! About the ADF i was referring to the UHF radio and its switch that says ADF which is not working at the current release. 1171 mhz is UHF and VORs are VHF. I just checked a real world map and it's actually 117.1 mhz :) Lino, one more question if you dont mind: I dont understand why there are specific frequencies for some planes like the Sabre or Dora and its relation to the 3 ferquencies I've always seen in each airport in the mission editor. THANKSS!! Art-J
The oldschool radios in WWII birds and Sabre operate within very narrow bandwidth ranges, which are also quite far apart from each other (around 40 MHz in the WWII planes vs. around 250-260 MHz in the Sabre). They also have to be preset before the mission (in the editor) and cannot be changed/tuned during flight. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. I thought that the Huey from Belsimek was from the 60's just like the Sabre (more or less) and that required special things like those. Is there any ETR on the VOR bug?
