RIP Jim Mackonochie

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth

And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth

of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung

High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,

I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung

My eager craft through footless halls of air....

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue

I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.

Where never lark, or even eagle flew —

And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod

The high untrespassed sanctity of space,

- Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

-- John Gillespie Magee, Jr.

Godspeed fellow aviator. You will be missed.

RIP Jim!!, he was a remarkable man, a great loss to the simcommunity:(

We (DFDT) as a team, met him severable times at the LLTM and Flightsim weekend Aviodrome.

He always was very passioned about Flightsimming, and we had great conversations with him and his wife Dee.

Now they are both gone, may they rest in peace.

But i'm sure he is watching us from the virtual sky's.

To those who knew him, I'm really sorry for your loss. Only saw a few of his posts, but he seemed a really decent, friendly man.

At least he won't be suffering now.

As they say on another favourite forum of mine "FCUTA"

Peace be with you in your rest. Sorry for ED loss.

There are 2 categories of fighter pilots: those who have performed, and those who someday will perform, a magnificent defensive break turn toward a bug on the canopy. Robert Shaw
