22 Jan. 16 Update for the L-39C

SNAFU

DCS L-39

  • Fix of multi crew interaction between two clients on server.

Is it possible to get more details concerning this fix for more testing?

Todays tests showed following bugs were still present:

-gear up/down syncronization between front and rear seat

-flap and speed brake position not syncronized

Air resistance seems to be really low for the L-39C and it is hard to speed speed in the air and on the ground.

Are you talking about the indication lights or the actual levers/switches?

I just got the L-39 so no big experience, but from the manual I see that the gear handle in the rear cockpit has 3 positions, and it should be in the middle (neutral) position to allow control form the front cockpit. So I guess if you move the gear handle in the front pit, you shouldn't see it moving in the rear pit.

Same thing for the speed brake switch in the rear cockpit, it should be in the middle position.

The TST-2 gauge (equivalent of EGT) is also showing the engine temp either in the front or rear cockipt, according to a switch in the rear pit.

Windows 10 - Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz (no OC) - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8Gb - 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) - SSD 500GB + WD Black FZEX 1TB 6Gb/s

Synchronisation is mostly working in DCS 2.0.1 right now. 1.5.3 should be out this friday which should also fix the synchronisation issues.

So far the only thing we noticed was that nav lights aren't synchronized and that the student pilot has to be sitting in the aircraft first. If you accept someone as backseater when you're still on the briefing screen synchronisation is broken.

Flaps work, landding gear works, switching controls is flawless. It's a lot of fun to fly around with someone.

Thanks for the update. Will try it asap.

So which open issues do we have with the synchronisation, without the things mentioned above?

You do have to bind the option to take controls in the options menu, it's under flight controls IIRC.

The most important thing is that there can't be any network lag. This can damage or even destroy the aircraft.

Other than that I haven't noticed any issues.

Even the nav lights not being synched seemed to be a fluke. It was working correctly just now.

One player can operate gear and flaps while the other player flies. Only the instructor appeears to be able to release controls, regardless on how you set up control priority in the editor.

There are four options in the editor

Instructor Priority:

The IP can always take control without asking, the student has to ask to get control back and the IP has to accept or release the controls to the player.

Pilot Priority:

The pilot can always take control at any time, the IP has to request controls. The Pilot can not release controls to the IP

Always ask:

The player currently in control of the aircraft always has to be asked to get control.

Equal control:

Both players can take control at will anytime they want.

Hope that helps,

-Derby
