... but again.. it is what it is.

Look, you seem to be quite a fair guy and you are certainly not in an easy position now - trying to defend, well..., sometimes undefendable.

Tell me pls., what logic is behind giving people who already own Mustang another one.

It is just against common sense.

I wanted a Dora, now I shall have two Mustangs and no Dora.

I praised DCS : P-51 everywhere, but this would ruin all confidence I have had in ED and I'm afraid I would loose all interest in any further ED products, sry.

ED should consider giving people who can prove they have a P-51 already an option to choose Dora instead.

Allright, I see your point now. The hardcopy manuals are not an option any longer - that was part of the "we all have to deal with some losses". And that would include the 12 USD, imo. Or what would be a solution here? Reimbursement of the 12 USD? But with that logic, everyone could demand to get their pledge reduced to the next lower reward tier - sounds somehow not really fair either to me.

Actually, we prefer $8 pledge increased.

Time is enough before the release of the 262 you know.:D

THIS :)

I would up my pledge from $80 to $120 in an instant, if allowed.

It's not the two planes, though, it's the Alpha access to those two planes.

DCS A10C Warthog, DCS Black Shark 2, DCS P51D Mustang, DCS UH-1H Huey, DCS Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight, Flaming Cliffs 3, Combined Arms

System: Intel i7 4770k @4,2GHz; MSI Z87-G65; 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM; 128GB SSD SATA3 (system disk); 2TB HDD SATA3 (games disk); Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X; Windows 7 64bit

Flight controls: Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog; Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder; TrackIR 5; Thrustmaster F16 MFDs; 2x 8'' LCD screens (VGA) for MFD display; 27'' LG LCD full HD main display

Its been made perfectly clear that people are upset by this, lets see if ED reviews and is able to make changes... all I ask is you be patient and see what happens... but its quite clear people want the ability to swap.

The KS did not even fund one full module...

Yes, but the point that everyone is trying to make is that there is money in those partially completed modules, and map, that were funded from backers. ED is now taking that work, and selling it in the future.

Edit: Its not simply the $ amount, its the mere principle of whats going on. It feels like stealing

After they sink more money into them to complete... as I said, the amount of work they aquired is probably fairly small to the overall project.

Yes I understand where your coming from, that the $ amount is not as significant. But the principle of whats happening is whats fairly upsetting. It doesn't matter if its a $1 or $1,000,000 it doesn't change the fact that its as if ED got the work for "free", and now they are doing us a favor by giving us something, as they sell them and make a profit

Its is not about a full modul, 2 half modules or a half baked theater. Its all about the work that ED is taking from RRG. This work, is a work. Not complete but still it is work that costed $158897 to the backers.

Many friends here want up from $40 to $120. :D We know this has little chance.

Now we just wish Wags reconsider to make some changes in the rewards system to show some difference for this "shipping cost", not to change anyone's Pledge.

And the backers are getting something in return for it. Or why are we all in this thread? :o)

Besides ... we don't even know how much costs ED already had just for simply helping RRG with the technical aspects (i.e. sending devs over to RRG), etc. Could well be seen as compensation for that.

And if you are still unhappy that ED is now using your money ... well, it isn't your money, it is RRGs money, so, you better talk to RRG then. (And if RRG approaches ED in return to get compensated for the work they actually did deliver ... well, that is not of your concern.)

There is other thing. Levels 50, 75, 90 and 110 probably got to higher reward level for their shipping cost so people which live in US on this level can be crying too.

I think Wags mentioned, that the KS money were already used up. And RRG did work and produced results. These results are now in the hands of ED.

Here is the quote:

One item I can shed some light on is where the Kickstarter funds went. All of the funds have been spent and they helped develop the Bf-109, P-47, Me.262, Spitfire, and Normandy map. However, given the massive amount of work, those Kickstarter funds were only a drop in the bucket of what is needed to flesh out this project. The vast majority of funds needed to finance this project have and will continue to come from Eagle Dynamics (not Kickstarter). To give you a feel… just the Eagle Dynamics developed and funded flight model for the Bf-109K has already cost us about 120k USD (that does not include external model, cockpit model, cockpit systems, etc.). Developing such products is not cheap!

So actually, sounds like the KS funded even less than what I was thinking... perhaps it when towards the models and such... really we dont know... but its a small part of the entire pie.

All of that said, I don't agree or understand the not letting pledgers pick at least their first plane. To me that is a poor business decision that was made because ED doesn't want to deal with the coordination of it all. However, from a customer service perspective, dealing with that initial headache (coordination) and earning return customers (as opposed to be potentially alienating them) in return is a wise investment. One simple change could solve 90% of the outstanding complains. I hope ED comes to their senses on that one.

Its the precedent set, by allowing "swaps" that creates a headache down the track... do it now and it will have to be allowed again later, and then again and again (from my own experiences and in speaking from that)

Change things? That's what got the original KS into such a mess in the first place... changing things to try and keep everybody happy. (having everyone happy is a nigh on impossible task)

There is no more money. It's all tied in the assets RRG made, assets that ED will now finish and sell. That's the point.

In any case, I am firmly convinced that keeping backers relatively happy by granting them this one little thing (the ability to swap planes) is a huge long-term plus for ED, even if it's a small minus short-term.

Having loyal customers that are happy with how you treat them goes a long way. I personally would rather have 2500 happy customers, and have a short term loss of 25k dollars (or 50k dollars), because those 2500 happy customers will keep coming back for more and will spend another 200.000 dollars in the next two years.

If on the other hand you drive the 2500 customers away to gain that short term 25k, you're losing a whole lot in the long term.

You only have to do it once, because this is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Never again will ED run a similar gig (taking over a failed overzealous project that has backers waiting to get their pledge rewards).

I'm just debating the wider causality that happens from choices that ED has before them. Good customer service and giving your customers a proper compromise is key to success. I'm speaking from experience as a customer: I've spent a lot of money backing Star Citizen, and I wouldn't have done that without the amazing customer service that helped me out on every step of the way.
