Silent Hunter Online Announced.

Whether you're engaging the enemy, escorting friendly vessels or spying in stealth mode, you command an authentic submarine on the front line of action. Make secret attack plans. Strike with precision. Escape into the ocean depths.

Screw silent running, guys, the subs in this war has a stealth mode. :bye:

I wonder what other modes they have.

it's a browser based f2p mmo. the screenshots already show 1999 level graphics.

Based off of the last Silent Hunter game, for once, I feel about the same pessimism you do.

At the same time, I hold out hope that maybe they learned their lesson with SHV.

When they say a dynamic campaign, it better truly be dynamic. The last two I played (SH3and SH4) had a campaign claimed to be dynamic, but it wasn't. Just a giant world with tons and tons of pre-scripted convoys and ships. It was nice to play around in, but in the end, your actions in the world meant nothing.

No, if the Germans really start massacring merchant shipping, Britain needs to weaken, and if it continues, they need to surrender. Enough of this historical crap, you can't have a historical dynamic campaign, the two are mutually exclusive concepts.

Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility.

This is pretty sad, I cut my teeth on Submarine sims before I ever got into anything that flies, I have enjoyed SH3 (with the GWX mod), SH4 (with trigger maru) and even the widely hated SH5 with the addition of more than a few mods.

I guess I feel like this browser game is just a kick in the jewels after they all but dropped the franchise after SH5's problematic release, you would think they would have even a modicum of respect for the fans that have thus far enjoyed the franchise.

I honestly hope this thing fails, I would rather the Silent Hunter franchise be dead than end up like this pathetic tripe.
