Remember Battlefield 4 on launch?

Yeah that's what happens if developers rush their software.

Give them some time, they'll come up with something nice and through thought :)

I do, all too well... But then I've never complained about DCS delays either. Bf4 Is a pretty good game these days... Time works wonders.

It still doesn't have the hitreg / netcode that BF3 did, but it's a LOT closer.

I'm wondering if there will be much value in keeping an 'official' 1.2 installation once 1.5 hits open beta. Unless 1.5's an unstable mess I can't see my self ever booting 1.2 again, and judging from the videos it's running pretty decent right now. Can you upgrade an open beta installation to the released version when 2.0 is out, or should the 1.2 be kept just for that purpose? The only thing I care about is the controls mapping file.

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked and answered but I just can't go back through 300+ pages of this thread.

I am wondering if DCS 1.5 or 2.0 is going to address the issues of moving ships (specifically carriers) as they relate to players in the mission? I realize that this simulator never began life as a naval aviation sim but after having come this far, it would be a shame if the carrier I am landing on is in a different place than the one my human wingman is landing on.

Thanks in advance.

Open Beta migrate

Just installed the open beta, and realized it created a new file path. Now when I open DCS beta none of the (paid) modules are loaded. What is the best way to use open beta with all of my modules? I'd rather not have all of the data on 2 different file paths, as Im running low on disk space. Should I just reinstall beta within the original non-beta folder?

If you don't want to have dual data folders then I suggest you just uninstall the open beta and do not install it again.

If they use the same data folder, they would use the same files. For two different versions of the sim to exist on one machine, they MUST occupy separate space (even though this means that there will be quite a bit if file duplication).

To install your modules, just log into the Module Manager and it should know what modules to install and will prompt you to let it do so.

I'm more afraid for multiplayer instabilities.

If I would be using the open beta 1.5, how is this going to affect multiplayer?

As there are so many changes, this can't be good, so I'll better wait for it to be officially released as release version so the servers get updated too

Well the point of the open beta is to have a larger testing group, this would include multiplayer, I hope we see some large 1.5 Open Beta MP events to push it hard.

Are they aware that "Mirage" is spelled incorrectly in the shot of the hotel in Las Vegas?

I'm assuming if it was on purpose, then it is for trademark purposes?

Other than that, It looks INCREDIBLE!!! Brings back fond memories of my days flying at Nellis!

Has very interesting how grow on detail NTTR with the pass of the time.

Hey SD, I think the ED team has found and are still finding how much they can push NTTR with this engine. I hope it will gets to the point where there may be some consideration for bombers one day. Maybe that's being overly optimistic, but who knows with the way things are trending? Anyways, it's good to see the awesome progress the team has made. Can't wait for the news to get some details of what to expect.
