A script to deactivate all installed modules

If like me you like to deactivate all your modules before reinstalling Windows (10?) or moving to a new PC, you might be interested in this little PowerShell script:

$mods = "C:\SteamSSD\SteamApps\common\DCSWorld\Mods"
Get-ChildItem "$mods" -Filter "*protect.exe" -Recurse | Where-Object { $_.fullname -notmatch "x86" } | ForEach-Object { &$_.fullname /lic:deactivate /nogui }

You need to change the value of the '$mods' variable to the mods folder in your DCS installation. It'll deactivate every module silently (with /nogui)

For those worried about "Running a Script" please be aware that using an activation for the upgrade isn't a big deal, they do replenish after 31 days.

Q: Does DCS: A-10C use copy protection/Activation?

A: Yes, it uses the new user-friendly ProActive AAA Technology. You will no longer have a fixed number of activations, but in an effort to prevent piracy the system does limit the number of activations per month. Your DCS A-10C serial number is initially set to 8 activations and when they all are spent, 1 activation is added automatically once per 31 days (effectively "refilling" your serial number). ProActive AAA Technology does not install any drivers on your PC. It works as an integrated part of the DCS files but has no special privileges in your system.
