The most exciting thing about this is it will be the FIRST flight sim to support DirectX 11.

All other sims are DirectX 9, so when I added a second HD 6950 in Crossfire configuration there was no improvement at all. However, in a certain DirectX 11 game my FPS more than doubled!

I fully expect the same performance jump in DCSW 2.0. ;)

Well that's the thing your comparing a game to dcs world which is more of a simulator. Sorry but performance is all speculation until we have it and assumptions don't work here very well.

All DCSWorld 1.2.x Modules and Licenses will work with DCSW2.0.

Unofficial 3rd party Mods as always is up to the author to update or support in DCS2.

A little update:

Today we reached a significant milestone of moving the NTTR map into full internal testing such that our external testers can now pound on it.

There are still several blocking bugs, but we are working hard to resolve them has fast as we can.

As mentioned in the first post of this thread, let's all try to keep on topic please.

Thanks

Thanks for the update Wags. Definitely good news if the testers are now able to take a crack at it. Fingers crossed that we'll see a summer alpha.

who are the "external testers" referred to in Wags post? Generally. Not looking for names.

I'm assuming that would be anyone with an ED testers tag, though I could be wrong.

"Hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky; With hideous ruin and combustion down;
To bottomless perdition, there to dwell; In adamantine chains and penal fire"

Likely ones not in ED's offices.?

Anyone care to define this one? It seems the show stopping bugs are squashed...if there was ever such a thing, but what are blocking bugs? A couple of examples would be nice to help understand and gain a perspective. :)

Thanks

Something that causes the sim to crash or a function not to work correctly that effects your ability to play the sim.
