Thank YOU for the great work! If not for people / 3rd Parties like you guys, we would by now have maybe 2 Helicopters and 2 to 3 planes (excluding FC3 here).

It is the work of enthusiasts who make this Sim shine...

Looks super!

Question: I have no idea how licensing works, but if you were not allowed to use the name BO 105, would you still be allowed to use a foreign designation, like Hkp 9? (Swedish designation.) Maybe you would have to contact the Swedish MoD for this?

I have to discuss this with the team. Basically the manufacturer of this Helicopter (Airbus helicopters / EADS) is the one who'll decide this.

we'll see ;)

Hey Fragger,

one quick question..what is your realtionship with ED now?! Will the BO-105 be sold as an official 3rd Party module, or somehow as a not official add-on?!

My Specs:

I don`t care..it is a Computer..a black one..

stupid question,

but will your Project be an official 3rd Party Product that underlies ED´s Qualitystandart?

If so I wonder why your thread hasnt been started in the 3rd Party Forums and why you have no 3rd Party Tag.

The Images are looking awesome by the way and I am really looking Forward to taking Hands on that Helicopter. Considering you´re doing this as sort of sidejob, so you´re indeed doing an awesome work.

To be a "3rd Party" you need a contract with ED. To get a contract with ED it helps to present some proof that you are capable of doing a 3rd Party module... Like the BO-105 we see here. ;)

Guess there is no update on the negotiations, or if there is, it is already under NDA.

I really hope they manage to get a 3rd party contract and all the other issues sorted.

It's a beautiful helicopter and they did an awesome job, that deserves it.

This may be completely wrong, but I recall reading a thread here saying 3rd parties would have to buy their own starforce license, which costs thousands of USD?

Never read or heard that, may you link that thread?

I think they need to integrate into the ED DRM (StarForce) if they want to use the module manager/shop system, but even then I'm not sure if ED as the shop/system operator isn't just delegating the fee for keys?

Anyhow, wild speculation that might do more harm than good. We don't know, so we should stop guessing.

Unfortunate enough, a thing like DRM is still required...

I wasn't guessing because I remember reading it on these forums. :) But my memory may be corrupted (it happens), or it might be an old thread with obsolete info.

I was hoping someone else here had read that thread, because I wasn't able to find it yesterday with forum search or google.

Sometimes my hard drive has errors... but I don't want do a reformat :).

I think it was Beczl who said that sometime ago on the locked mig21 section. I think now everyone have to use the same protection as dcs world for better compatibility. I see Veao has switched recently and LNS also somwtime ago... iirc.

Fragger,

I dont know what kind of relationship or contacts you have with Airbus helicopters, but I live right down the street from their manufacturing/sales plant here in Texas. I worked for them when I was younger and my father worked for them for over 22 years. I remember when they went from Aerospatiale Helicopters, to American Eurocopter, now to Airbus Helicopters. I grew up around the Dolphine (Panther), Gazelle, Twin Star and A Star, Puma, Aloutte, EC-120, EC-135, BO-105, BK-117 ect.... Back in the day we used to be able to go flying in them as family members when the company was cool. Rules have changed over the years. I remember when my dad was working on the Panther and it was a classified project. I remember being sneaked in to see it before they rolled it out the first time.

All this being said, I still have contacts out there. I am not sure how useful they would be but I can try to help out in any way if you need anything from me. That goes from photos, to talking to people upstairs. If I can be of any assistance please let me know. Here is an old photo of my old man flying the Dolphin right after the Coast Guard got the contract. My dad put all 96 of the first ones through their flight tests.

UPDATE: 02.12.2014

full clearance is still waiting. I cannot use the name BO-105 PAH1A1 because it is copyrighted. We're busy finding some solutions. Since the helicopter is still on duty, we have to be very careful, otherwise -> jail.

I wouldn't worry about jail, it's a civil offence not criminal !!
