Well, let me do that now. :) A bridge landing I'd never been able to achieve before today: Same bridge, different perspective: My Arch-Nemesis: The big warehouse. I had no problems hovering there with the Ka-50 but I never ever survived an attempt at hovering in it with the Huey: The aerodynamics sure feel a bit wobbly, but nothing too wild: Perfect 180° turn without any rotor strike. Gotcha, you damn warehouse! "So, Boss, how am I doing today? Pretty f***ing good, right?" "Ah crap, something feels terribly wrong, gotta ditch it!" "Son, your flying today was rock solid. The bridge landing was top notch flying. The warehouse hover, well, I could've sipped a coffee, damn good work. And now you're breaking my machine on a stupid 10 ft wall? Let's do a little revival of the good old high speed drops in the Shark. :D Lining up some 4.5 kilometers above Min Vody: Here we go, collective bottomed out. Ignore the HUD speed indication, probably pitot tube icing. Gaining airspeed. With cyclic full forward, the chopper pitches up regardless. Airspeed 251 - KNOTS :D (Yes, that's over 450 kph) IAS MAX sounding like crazy, generators off. Almost no blade tilting despite 400+ kph with collective bottomed out: Slowing down.
