Black Shark Twin monitor

Recommended Posts

Hi chaps,

I've been trying to get multimonitor to work in multiplayer for the black shark, with no succes so far.

The thing I'm trying to do is use my main monitor (22" 1680x1050), for the "camera" (i.e. the cockpit), and use my second monitor (18.5" 1366x768 ) for the Shkval and Abris.

In single player it works like it should, however in multiplayer I cannot join the flight, as the button has "dissapeared" underneath my second monitor (i.e. underneath the abris/shkval).

Does anybody have an idea? For instance: does the server have to allow lua exporting? When I fly online I fly with the SHREK squadron who has a private FC2 server, so modifications to the server can be made as I know the host from the squadron.

Any ideas would be highly appreciated!

Cheers,

Lukas

P.s. I'm using version 1.0.2

P.s.2 my lua's

Please post your systems in the same form like I ask in this post:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1135662#post1135662

You can leave out point 2 as you don't use a TH2GO.

Hi darrenkarp,

I have a TH2GO unit and I could do some tests this weekend to solve your problem. Therefor I have to reconfigure it in the same (very unusal way- from my point of view wink.gif) way like you have.

To do this I need some more Information from you:

1.

I need your exact desktop configuration.

Please post a screen-shot of the windows properties like this sample:

Untitled-1.png

2.

Also post a screen-shot of your Matrox PowerDesk setup.

sample:

mth2go04.png

3.

Used operating system and version of DCS:Warthog.

4.

Post your Options.lua

5.

Optional a photo of your monitor setup environment. This will help me to find out what you want to obtain in the end.

sample:

lol.gif3%20monitors%20but%20only%20the%20one%20on%20the%20right%20fits%20-%20too%20bad%20its%20DOA.jpg

also describe in simple words what you want to see at each display.

This will give me enough Information to simulate your environment and see if I can reproduce the faulty behaviour and find a working solution for you.

Is the Geforce GTX295 in your sig still actual ?I have in mind to create a SoftTh profile for you that will allow you to use the fullscreen option checked and this will give you some extra-frames too.

With fullscreen on in BlackShark there will be (If done properly)no miss-alignment in the MP screen and you will reach all options.

Go Here it should work for BS as well as it works for A10. There is a utility from Oakes at the bottom and an explanation on how it works a couple pages later. This should solve your problem.

Sorry ,

please do this:

If the config.softth.cfg fails at start of DCS:Warthog:

Remove it the .cfg from the Bin folder and let SoftTH create one by default. Then look up how your Display2 is named -I did this only by guess (AMD Radeon HD 5770 Series).

And change this in my tweaked config.SoftTH.cfg.

To create a default .cfg simply fire up DCS without the config.SoftTh.cfg in the bin folder.

and post the default "config.softth.cfg"

In the meantime I will check every file again.

found the bug:

screenMode=3072x768 --!!!! I forgot to enter your reselution after testing it at my setup.

This should work now:

FOVForceVertical=0

[head_primary]

screenMode=1680x1050

devID=1
sourceRect=1680,0,1366,1050
transportResolution=1366x768

noSync=0

Edit:

Updated the zip in post#5

Ok, I let it make a default config.SoftTHconfig file (there is no extention?), see attachment.

Yes - *.CFG files apper in this way in Win7 -I was at first also confused.

Yes, the cockpit is smeared on both monitors, instead of cockpit on left, abris+shkval on right.

Here are my lua's:

Camera+shkval+abris.lua:

_ = function(p) return p; end;

name = _('Camera+ShkvalAbris');

Description = 'Shkval on the left monitor, camera on the right';

Viewports =

{

Center =

{

x = 0;

y = 0;

width = 1680;

height = screen.height;

viewDx = 0;

viewDy = 0;

aspect = 1.6;

}

}

Shkval =

{

x = 1680;

y = 0;

width = 512

height = 525

}

ABRIS =

{

x = 2300;

y = 0;

width = 576;

height = screen.height;

}

And options.lua:

options =

{

["difficulty"] =

{

["padlock"] = true,

["easyRadar"] = false,

["miniHUD"] = false,

["birds"] = 100,

["optionsView"] = "optview_all",

["permitCrash"] = true,

["aftSwitching"] = false,

["cockpitLanguage"] = "english",

["units"] = "metric",

["easyFlight"] = false,

["altTrimmingMethod"] = true,

["externalViews"] = true,

["iconsTheme"] = "nato",

["fuel"] = false,

["weapons"] = false,

["setGlobal"] = false,

["geffect"] = "none",

}, -- end of ["difficulty"]

["views"] =

{

["cockpit"] =

{

["mirrors"] = true,

["reflections"] = false,

["russianHud"] = false,

["avionics"] = 4,

}, -- end of ["cockpit"]

}, -- end of ["views"]

["sound"] =

{

["world"] = 0,

["radioSpeech"] = true,

["cockpit"] = 0,

["volume"] = 0,

["headphones"] = 0,

["music"] = -100,

["subtitles"] = true,

["gui"] = 0,

}, -- end of ["sound"]

["graphics"] =

{

["multiMonitorSetup"] = "Camera+ShkvalAbris",

["color"] = "32",

["heatBlr"] = 1,

["scenes"] = "high",

["water"] = 2,

["fullScreen"] = true,

["visibRange"] = "High",

["aspect"] = 2.9,

["textures"] = 2,

["shadows"] = 2,

["effects"] = 3,

["width"] = 3046,

["height"] = 1050,

["civTraffic"] = 0,

["resolution"] = "3046x1050",

["haze"] = 1,

}, -- end of ["graphics"]

} -- end of options

Could it be in the camera.lua that I have to set the screen.height to their respective height resolution?

Found my Bug...

two ";" where missing :doh:

edit the file like below

_  = function(p) return p; end;
name = _('Camera+ShkvalAbris');
Description = 'Shkval on the left monitor, camera on the right';
Viewports =
{
    Center =
    {

}

ABRIS =
{
   x = 2300;
   y = 0;
   width = 576;
   height = screen.height;
}

...than

choose "shkval+camera" in the options>"monitors" tab

Load a mission. (you should see Shkval on right and cockpit on left.)

close mission and go back to my setting - "Camera+ShkvalAbris"

and it should work ... (hopefully).

Hey,

in reaction on http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36551&highlight=multi+monitor&page=35 I'm now pitching over here xD

Didn't got it worked out - at the moment I'm trying to get SoftTh working and opened a thread in the SoftTh-forum http://www.kegetys.net/forum/index.php?topic=2628.0 - in short, I don't get any SoftTh-config created and Bs doesn't react on foreign ones. Ideas? (:

There's no "Overkill". There's only "open fire!" and "time to reload".

Did you used the right SoftTH d3d9.dll ? - there a tow of them : one for 32bit support and one for 64bit.

DCS Blackschark is a 32bit program so you have to use the 32bit version of SoftTH 2.04.

Also post your Setup as I request below.

Help me helping you:

1.

I need your exact desktop configuration.

Please post a screen-shot of the windows properties like this sample:

Untitled-1.png

-are the monitors connected at the same graphic-card?

-what graphic do you use ?

2. Optional- Skip this step if you dont use a TH2GO

Also post a screen-shot of your Matrox PowerDesk setup.

sample:

mth2go04.png

3.

Used operating system and version of DCS:XXX

4.a

Post your Options.lua

4.b

Post your MonitorSetup *.lua

5.

Optional: a photo of your monitor setup environment. This will help me to find out what you want to obtain in the end.

sample:

lol.gif3%20monitors%20but%20only%20the%20one%20on%20the%20right%20fits%20-%20too%20bad%20its%20DOA.jpg

Hey,

first: thanks for your help.

Your first few sentences solved a bit mistery - I was stupid and thought of the OS instead of the program, so I tried the x64-dll... Now at least the "Shall a default config created?" pops up - after that, the simulator isn't starting up.

Okay - my configuration:

-Screenconfig is attached

-both monitors are attached to the first GTX480 of two (SLI)

-OS is Win7 x64, BS 1.0.2

-options.lua, graphics-section:

["graphics"] =

{

["multiMonitorSetup"] = "1camera",

["color"] = "32",

["heatBlr"] = 1,

["scenes"] = "high",

["water"] = 3,

["fullScreen"] = true,

["visibRange"] = "High",

["aspect"] = 1.6,

["textures"] = 2,

["shadows"] = 3,

["effects"] = 3,

["width"] = 1680,

["lights"] = 2,

["height"] = 1050,

["civTraffic"] = 1,

["resolution"] = "1680x1050",

["haze"] = 1,

}, -- end of ["graphics"]

-multimonitor-lua is needed - I begun with the shkval + cam-lua, but no success.

-native res. of the screens:

-upper: 1280x1024

-lower: 1680x1050

-cockpit-photo is attached - destination is to move the shkval-screen (not the ABRIS!) to the upper monitor and the normal cockpit on the lower widescreen.

Thanks for trying helping me help you help us all.

PS: Were you ever hired by aperture science inc.? ;-)

Hello,

Edit your options.lua like below to set a custom resolution in BlackShark.

["graphics"] =
   {
       ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "1camera",
       ["color"] = "32",
       ["heatBlr"] = 1,
       ["scenes"] = "high",
       ["water"] = 3,
       ["fullScreen"] = true, -- set to True
       ["visibRange"] = "High",
       ["aspect"] = 0.81, -- edit here
       ["textures"] = 2,
       ["shadows"] = 3,
       ["effects"] = 3,
       ["width"] = 1680,
       ["lights"] = 2,
       ["height"] = 2074, -- edit here
         ["civTraffic"] = 1,
       ["resolution"] = "SoftTh 1680x2074", -- edit here (if you like)
         ["haze"] = 1,
   }, -- end of ["graphics"]

Than copy the files of the attached Haggart.zip as written in the ReadMe to their destination folder.

Test and report back!

Really great - it worked as wished. Thanks! I'm only trying to achieve antialiasing, but beside that, it works.

Does the MP screen show all contend? Do you notice a FPS increment ?

About AA: Try to set this in the config.SoftTHconfig.

antialiasing=1

start with 1 and higher this value.

If this doesn't work you have to force AA in the NVidea control panel.
